So often when I make a map units will be able to fly up the side of cliffs and enter on top of the cliff in a spot where there is no ramp. Even when I put negative pathing on the cliff top it still happens and units hop over the cliff like its not even there. What the hell causes this and more importantly, how do I stop it?? Thanks.
Open the doodad properties and select "Don't Use Doodad Footprint" on the Pathing tab. If you want to see the pathing on the map, it's in the view menu—I don't remember the exact submenu at the moment.

Some doodads have their own allowed pathing and units can use them to ignore cliffs

Have you tried a pathing blocker doodad?
