there's gotta be a way, can't seem to find it. I want the unit to appear as the wavy lines, like it is undetected (like the cloaking in Predator... you know what I mean)

Very very easy. Select the model you want then pn the property value tables find Actor Model-Cloaking and set that to enemy.
Also if you aren't sure of the specific words to use I think you can use numbers, like 0-3, or something like that.
