Bahahahawaha I´ve spent so many hours on this problem now! Read tutorials, read other threads. Experimented with the actor events! Tried other kinds of attacks. The damn Marauder refuses to lift his weapon towards any target. >.<
Maybe the problem is that the Firebat attack animation requires two arms, thus two kinds of attack animations must be created - one for left arm and one for right arm, so they work at the same time. Hmm .. But why does he shoot the fire up in the air? Why not in a straight line like normal people do?
Now I leave some words of wisdom to the next generation of noobs like me who find this thread. Do as on the picture below and the Marauder will raise his arm to attack, no matter what weapon is added.
Now I only need to find a way to make the Firebat flamethrower shoot from both of the Marauders arms... It only shoots from one atm >.<
About shoting from both hands. I had similar problem, but with ability effect. Creating 2 actors, one with Host Site operations-SopAttachWeaponRight, the second one with SopAttachWeaponLeft makes the effect happen on both weapons/hands(tested with viking).

When I give the Firebat attack to the Marauder it shoots the flame up and down. He does not point the weapon towards the target.
I go in the Marauder unit actor event field and add this, since I read in an other thread that this can be a solution to a similar problem:
Weapon start - Firebat Perdition Flamethrower - Attack Start AnimationBracket Start Attack Attack
Or this one:
Effect.(FirebatDamageeffect).Start At Caster AnimPlay Attack
(I´ve tried different Firebat weapon effects)
Still no difference. Do I need to create new actors for the attack? Or is there something else in the Marauder actor that must be modified?
Any clue what the problem might be?

Why does it refuse to work?!
This is suppose to be a simple thing!
And yes, I have read this thread and done what it says: http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/development/map-development/5814-marauder-attack-animation/

I FINALLY MANAGED TO SOLVE IT!

Could you care to upload an empty map with this working for the marauder, with the firebat weapon?
Sure!
It is in a MOD-file actually. So you need to create a new map, go to dependencies, click on Add other and then add your MOD-file
Glad to be able to help for once :)
Thanks.
Gave you a like, no idea how to +1 your reputation, unless like is reputation? :P
Lol, Like is reputation... way to... Tested by unliking your post, and updating the site... Its liked again now though! :)
