I think there stuff in behavior called "Damage Responses" you could attach damage effect that hits the attacker when struck. Wraith's Evasion cloak uses this.
there might be away to do this BUT it would require a lengthy and switch effect heavy effect tree and a lot of validators. you would basically have to create a buff with a damage response handled effect set to a group of nested switch effects, the switch effects would use the validators to test which damage effect to apply to the attacking unit. my suggestion is to use a dummy behavior and triggers as you are doing now.
you can't have multiplies of a damage value on another unit than the one that takes the damage. dealing dmg to the attacker on death is actually no problem.
Ok heres question is it possible to get effect from this trigger done in data editor?

Combat response / Aura that applies a behavior that has a "Vital leeched from damage dealt" field of -1.
