The Xel'Naga: History == (rewritten)

The Xel'Naga are a cosmic race and a dying breed. From the moment they came into existence they sought out a way to prolong their inevitable extermination. Psionic energy flows through them like blood through veins. Psionic energy diminishes over a long period of time. The Xel'Naga knew this and began to create other beings to carry out their bloodline after they were gone. Creating an entire race consumes a lot of psionic energy, it drained their powers and abilities. Over time, small amounts of Psionic energy were channeled back to them through all the races they created. Usually in the form of worship to a god, an idol or a belief.

Their goal in creating other beings was not simply to create a being to carryout their legacy after death, but they also strive to create the purist of form. The race would be able to utilize amazing amounts of Psionic energy without being tied to it as a lifeline, thus enabling them to survive long after the psionic abilities in them faded. They needed to be advanced enough, intelligent enough and strong enough to survive against any opposition without the need for relying solely on psionic energy.

The Terrans were the first failed creation. The Xel'Naga felt their greed, selfishness and thirst for power made them unworthy. In response, the Zerg race was created. Initially their sole purpose was to eradicate the Terran race and remove all proof of their shameful failure. However, their attempts failed thus making the Zerg race unworthy and an even more embarassing failure in the eyes of the Xel'Naga. They were too hard to control and psionic energy was spread too thin amid their vast numbers. The Protoss race was then created to cleanse the universe of both the Terrans and the Zerg. All hope went into the Protoss to carry out the bloodline of the Xel'Naga. After the creation of the Protoss race, the Xel'Naga went silent for an almost eternity and was never heard from. Protoss wise men saw this as a test from the Xel'Naga and they went on believing that their goal was to bring order throughout the galaxy with or without force and at all costs.

The works of the Xel'Naga are a mystery since the original Starcraft took place. Throughout the history of Starcraft 2, all is revealed.

Heart of the Swarm: History

As stated earlier, the story takes a spin on the events that happen in HotS and LotV. Since neither of the expansions have been released, I basically filled in the gaps with what I feel sounds right. Also, a lot of the history of the Xel'Naga have been re-written to fit my vision and the storyline for Psionics.

After the events in Wings of Liberty, Kerrigan was able to harness her full zerg energies while holding on to her humanity and was able to fuse her psionic powers of both the Terran and Zerg energies inside her. This made her an extremely powerful entity. After she killed Mengsk, she set out to destroy the psionic links that bound zerg forces to oppressive overminds. She became a true hero and a leader to all zerg forces, she was seen as a liberator and any zerg would give their life for her. During the events in HotS, Kerrigan was able to free the entire Zerg race of their enslavement, thus she was able to harness the largest army anyone in the galaxy has ever imagined. Her next plan was to dominate and rid the galaxy of Terrans and Protoss, however, no one understood why she was so hell bent on achieving the task. Aftrer the events in HotS, she sets out to regroup all of her forces and barely makes an appearance in LotV.

Legacy of the Void: History

In Legacy of the Void we see Jim Raynor trying to unite the loose factions of the Terran race to join as allies to the Protoss. However, due to the events that took place in Starcraft 1, the Terrans still see protoss as a hostile threat. Protoss leaders set out to hunt down and kill Kerrigan and any zerg broods they find along the way. The hybrid race flourished behind the scene's in Hots. Thus, the story jumps between Jim Raynor and the Protoss trying to unit forces as one to battle the new Hybrid race threat, the Protoss hunting for Kerrigan and zerg broods and Zeratuals secret mission.

In Wings of Libery we see Zeratual belaying an encoded message to Jim Raynor. The mysteries behind this message are revealed as we see all of what Zeratual discovered on his journies (that roughly took place in the time gap between SC1 and SC2) are revealed in a second meeting with Jim Raynor.

It turns out that Zeratual told Jim Raynor that Kerrigan must survive in order to help form an alliance to stop the Xel'Naga from destroying all three races. Zeratual discovered that the Xel'Naga were going to return and finish the job that neither of the three races could accomplish with the aide of the Hybrid race. In doing so, it would return a lot of Psionic energy to them, thus giving them the ability to start over again and invest all their hopes in the Hybrid race.

At the end of Legacy of the Void, the forbidden alliance formed and an epic battle between all three races and the Xel'Naga and Hybrid race took place! The outcome was not in favor of the Xel'Naga and the Xel'Naga, along with the Hybrid race were erased from existence. Upon the last death, a bright pillar of light shot up into the skies followed by psionic energy burst that expanded all throughout the universe.

The Aftermath

The extermination of the Xel'Naga broke the psionic link in all three races and their desire to kill each other faded. Over time, Jim Raynor and the Protoss lead the galaxy as leaders of the newly formed Republic. All species worked together to bring a seemingly endless era of peace. However, unbeknownst to them, the Xel'Naga put in place a failsafe that would surely bring an end to their existence. They created an ultimate being that could only be awoken by their death. Thus, Chaos was born and began wrecking havoc.

Chaos's first deeds was to disable their technology, scramble their forces and destroy their leaders. He was overly successful. During the era of peace, chaos traversed the galaxy feeding off of all natural resources from every planet in the universe. Where-ever he was meet with opposition, he destroyed. Without the resources to feed their technology, universe's and planets became solitary and unable to keep up lines of communication. There was no resources to power war machines and airships.

This caused a cry for help and desperation from all three races. Protoss wise men were able to teach others to bring out and utilize the psionic energies that lay dormant in all of them. Some were able to wield more power than others, and those became new heroes in the fight against Chaos.

Chaos then began his journey to find ancient relics put in place by the Xel'Naga that would give him the powers to destroy each race single handedly.

This is the story of the final out-lash of the Xel'Naga. This is the story of the rise of Chaos. Many new heroes will arise and old heroes will die.
