Ok awhile back in my second post I said I was going to implement another kind of Laser Tower Focusing ability, well that Idea led to the nuclear reactor generator idea so instead of implementing another kind of Laser Tower Focusing ability I'm just going to recreate the original style Laser Focusing where you use the attack to direct the effect on your tower of choice. So far I have taken several screen shots of an attack that is being modified with the Laser Focusing effect to figure out in what kind of values the laser buff is improving. The down side to this is the auto repair problem that I mention before. Currently I've been trying to figure out something here that would cancel this auto repair issue. Right now I've been thinking about having a way to counteract this by somehow reducing the Laser towers Damage 0 so it will still apply the effect and at the same time not mess with the Auto repair ability.

One minuscule problem I notice with the original SCV team was the information in the button tooltip text that is for some of the Towers wasn't true with what the actual stats that Tower had. I notice this inconsistency when I was replicating certain towers stats over. So this got me started on a solution to correct this problem with the inaccurate stats and in order to keep the stats accurate with the actual units stats I created a data references for each of the specified stats in the text. So now if I make certain changes to one of these stats on the unit, the data references will automatically mirror those changes in the button display text.

Well that was an easy fix with the footprint that remained after the building is destroyed. I just went to the Unit Pathing and removed the pathing footprint for the unit when its Dead.

I got this pretty much solved now. All I had to do was change the problematic death model animation to an already existing Terran Building Death model. now the building is working as desired but for the most part, I ran into another problem. Now one building is leaving its footprint behind and with the other building everything is working as desired after the building is gone. Any ideas on how to solve this would be great.

I've been exploring some new Ideas dealing with the Nuclear reactor lately. The Idea with the nuclear reactor that I got in the works is to have the nuclear reactor to be very energy based so not only does it provided an energy field to boost surrounding units regenerative energy it also even can build a Generator that will setup energy regeneration directly to the tower of your choice even the nuclear reactor. The idea behind the buildable Generator is that they will act as secondary energy providers that you will build this around your Nuclear reactor so you can produce additional energy more rapidly to selective towers at the cost of energy from the Generator rather then primarily from the nuclear reactor.

So I've been thinking about this idea for adding super abilities to the game. I haven't put much work on the idea, but one ability I super modified is the deploy Spider mine ability from the vulture. Now instead of just putting one mine down like you typically would with just one click I made it where you lay down a field of Mines in a grid formation like in the picture so.

Currently I got the SCV attack working, I just need to setup of some kind of leveling system for the SCV. I also been in the process on making some new Ideas with the Nuclear Reactor and the Laser Tower. Now one problem for me that always stood out with the first SCV team was how the Laser Tower Focusing ability was able to mess with the Repair ability for the mules and caused them to go back and fourth from the turret that was being focused to the wall that was needing repair so I decided to implement another kind of Focused tower ability that will not mess with the Repair ability. Another Idea I've been testing for the Nuclear Reactor is an Energy Field Idea that is around the Reactor and can boost energy power for surrounding Tower and Units Alike.

Now that I've reconstructed "The SCV Team" pretty much I wanted to create this thread here for those who are interested in the next version of the SCV Team that is in the Works. Now my intentions is not to clone "The SCV team" but rather create a new perspective while built on the same foundation as the predecessor so it will have its similarities and its differences too. I'll post pictures and write the current stuff I'm building for the game so to say. Right now I've completed most of the SCV in terms of what the SCV can potentially build but I still haven't added the Ranged Attack it has along with a Leveling system. I still haven't come up with a name for the game so the title subject is going to change once I got a name in mind.

Here in this picture above I put together a collection of the towers

Here in this picture above I'm testing out the SCV build ability and adjusting it until it works in the same fashion as the original The SCV Team.

Here in this picture above Can you figure out what I'm testing. I give you a hint you couldn't do this in the original The SCV Team.

Well that is all the stuff I can come up for now towards the stuff I been working on. Pretty much the game-play behind the SCV is there like it is with the original The SCV Team though I've got all the blueprints on a single command card so you can see all the Towers you can select from to build. Another project that is in the think tank is an Co-op Campaign mode along with custom Team battles and a Endless Wave Survival mode.

The problem here is that certain buildings in the game leaves debris (that don't disappear) after being destroyed and I cant figure out how to correct it. Here is a picture for quick examination. See In the picture below is the remnants of two structure after they were both destroyed and yet certain parts of the structure still remains and does not disappear with the rest of it. What is the case here and how can it be fixed not to do this?

This is Great, for what is worth here I've provide a picture of what I've just started working on. What I mean by refined is to build with the intention to polish the current game design and at the same time bring forward a new perspective on the game design. The Goal behind this is to show that even tho there is a another SCV team game in the works the original will still be compatible thus making it relevant to play and that even tho there is two SCV Team games there will be both have its similarities and its new experiences.

@DarcZaFire: Go That is Awesome, Ive played The Toss Team. I was blown away by it the first time I played it felt so good to play another variation of the SCV Team especially as protoss, tho others might disagree because you did not use the Probe like how the SCV was for the SCV team but I will tell you this it is way better with Fenix for the builder. When it came to the SCV team the focus for the Tower aspect of the game is around the persons choice of Towers they would potentially build on the map. Now with the Toss team I see that the focus for the Tower aspect of the game is based solely on the persons choice of upgrades all the towers would have and I can understand why. The features with the Toss team that is there like gathering wood to build your base but at the same time you need to gather the orbs to build the zealot workers to harvest the wood to clear a area so you can build a base is a great way to start the game and managing the tree resources is another excellent way to keep the supply of trees on the map for more lasting games and it works, In my games I like to use the Trees as natural barriers to stop potential attack from happening to the cannons.

Now I got a question for you since you have permission from the Map creator to "The SCV Team", Do you think there would be any objection for me making another variation of The SCV team. Now before you answer that I'm going to pitch to you my goals and thoughts. One of my goals for the map is bringing forward a more refined version and correcting the inherent problems that were occurring in the original. I've already been in the works at creating a bank system that pulls Information from the original bank so is can be applied to the next version. Its a small starting step but the first step towards expanding a game that is mostly consider Broken beyond Repair by its Original Creator.

    Quote from willuwontu: Go

The scv team was one of my favorite games. Although there is that bug where your level resets for no reason.

Been thinking about this one and I believe I understand why this happens. I've seen this lvl reset happen to me in several games before and I believe it has something to do with the EXP Counter exceeding the limit and resetting it self back to 0.

@Ahli634: Go Well that I can not tell you but what I can tell you is that I tried to find and download The SCV team from battle.net and the game is not even available for download sad to say. But that hasn't stop me from trying to bring some new idea to the table with The SCV team. In fact I've been in the learning process in understanding how banks work in the game and with my ability to access the only thing I can from the SCV team which is the bank file. I have been successful with creating a new fresh map and load up the bank files for The SCV team in the map I created. So making a new version of The SCV team with only having access to the Bank file is very achievable if the bank file is able to be understood (which it is).

That would pretty interesting Idea to see happen. There are bunch of maps out there that are abandoned. One map that come to my mind is "The SCV Team" last updated 2015. Now for those that don't know about what Happen to "The SCV Team" the Map creator here in a reply post on his said that The SCV Team can no longer be worked on due to corrupt files and that means abandoned forever. A Gem like "The SCV Team" needs to be remade from the ground up. So here is my quick thought maybe there is a reason why the game has become abandoned as we can see with "The SCV Team". Which brings about the fact that adopting a map also means adopting the potential problems that come along with it. That's why its a good idea to put up a Backup Map File on Mapster before it becomes broken or even potentially lost.

Putting all the bad that could be aside. I think this would be very great idea for map preservation in that regard. We will always have the original map in the arcade but having a better renewed version to play is also another way to keep the map going. For example redoing "The SCV Team" needs to be replicated the best it can but also bringing forth a new Idea at the same time. Certainly this would be a good start in bringing forward a renewed map but there is also a several down side to this as well that need to be corrected. See in "The SCV Team" you have stats saved up like your Lvl along with perks by beating the game on different modes there is even a PET you can have in this game. By remaking the Map that means you would Lose you Lvl with all the perks and even your Pet and that is certainly not good for the next expansion if your planing on just improving the little stuff. To correct this problem we are going to need to get in to the bank file of the Original game and implement some sort of system that recognizes certain key parts in the bank file so it can "transfer" your stats with the perks and even your PET or what else have you over to the remake. If done this would help the remake game tenfold in that way the player feels not everything is lost and you got to start back at the bottom in the renewed version.
