    Yep! That's what I went through after this thread, and I eventually settled on the dummy unit and fog because it seems like a real draw distance effect. Thank you, though!

    I'm refining a few texture things and I will be uploading it to my assets page in the coming weeks as part of KSNumedia's Ghost Pack - a collection of many different Ghost kitbashed variants. These 3 characters and their plot will be featured in The Shadowed Path 2 but I'm making all models available for download once I have modeled 8-10 types of Ghosts. The Shadowed Path (my current project) will have some of its models showcased in the coming days.

     

    Katsura Amamiya (Age 22 permanently): A young woman on the verge of death from a familial disease finds a new lease on life by [MemID_INVALID], faking her death and venturing to parts unknown. She subsequently began to exhibit powerful abilities not found humans. Her combat suit is made of [MemID_INVALID]. Psionic Waveform: Class 12

     

    Player Character: Kojou Amamiya (Physical age 53, actual age 30): Chairman of the Amamiya Financial Group, a financial management conglomerate that moonlights as a defense contractor for official standing armies, militias, and private firms around the Koprulu Sector. A nightmarish young woman, calling herself Kotori Amamiya, has haunted his dreams since Katsura's death. Kojou is convinced she is real and spent many hours hunting her down, even undergoing unstable augmentation procedures to enable him to use prototype Shadowguard equipment. This procedure has caused his physical body to age much quicker than normal, dooming him to an early grave and forcing him to publicly state that his familial disease is accelerating aging. Years and months of hunting Kotori have been for naught and although he is close to giving up, the nightmares have not stopped. Psionic Waveform: 8

     

    Kotori Amamiya (Age unknown): An [MemID_INVALID] that exhibits violent, sadistic tendencies and is on the most wanted list of all governments in the Koprulu Sector. Currently being hunted by Kojou Amamiya, [MemID_INVALID], and [MemID_INVALID]. Psionic Waveform: Unknown

     

    When I share models I will also write lore stuff for them because I feel it adds to the personality that I try to design them with. Also it's fun :D

     VOD #2 for TSP is up! I cut the video length down to 9 mins from 24 xD A lot of changes have been made to aesthetics, mostly, and I'm working on completing the upgrades data and menus at the moment.

    Maximum map size is 256x256, so if the player can't see the whole map at once because stuff is in the way I would set between a 125-175 farclip if your map is in third-person.

    Unfortunately, no she cannot swap :( she uses normal Ghost animations. I could probably do a version with sword using Nova coop animations but it would be only katana.

     

    Player might be able to modelswap in game but I can't make them one single model :/

    Baby, I'm back! I'm working on my current Editor project at the moment but am slowly cranking out assets for use in the map and in sequels to this same project.

     

    I present to you all Katsura Amamiya, a Spawn-themed, undead female Ghost. Her archnemesis brother, Kojou Amamiya, is WIP ^^. If I can properly edit a Dark Templar model without it kicking the bucket on import, I will be uploading screens as well. I prefer to release these once their associated projects are complete, but I will be making more from now on.

     

    Should be noted, if I end up not using any models in my own projects I'll upload them to my Assets page.

    posted a message on Broken Anims

    Some model animations break when imported into 3DSMax 2016. For example, the Eidolon Ghost's gun just floats up into his head when I play the animation sequence. Others, like the Dark Templar, are completely missing all animations when Previewing with SC2ArtTools. How do I fix this?

     

    Edit: I'm using Blender now and while some stuff are still broken they aren't beyond my ability to repair, cheers!

    Indeed! I actually have change ToD blend since then. In the video, which is vastly different technically speaking from what I have rn, I am using a ridiculously high farclip to render the whole skybox. Probably in the thousands which is why it's so laggy.

     

    What I have since done is create a dummy unit called Skybox, set its model to the Aiur Skybox scaled down to 0.02, and then set my farclip to 200 with a fog to soften it and give the appearance of a smoother draw distance. This greatly helped performance and the map still looked quite nice.

    Scaling the skybox model down does not reduce the farclip required to see the map's actual skybox. Is there a way around this? I'm thinking it has something to do with the map size but I'm not sure.

    Yes, it's been a long way indeed haha I don't think I could have done this when I first started mapmaking. Good to see you have also expanded the Hammer of Dawn series to a large universe over the years :)

     

    I should take this time to say that newly implemented features since the video:

    - Guards

    - Instant kill from behind

    - Channeled blocking

     

    Once I have the cliff-climbing mechanic, fast-travel, Lore popup, and money system in place I will do another VOD, this time much shorter and brief. Thanks for your interest Edhriano! :)
