Hmm, stranger yet, when I create a custom game it works fine, defaults to my variant, but when I select join custom game to get to it, my variant isn't even available to select.
I'm having trouble setting the default game category/mode, and so people who play my game end up playing as the AI players because they don't change the game mode. I right clicked my game variant and set it to default, and there are no other game variants, and I disabled custom in the auto-variants, but custom is still the default mode. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Are they equivalent? The Any Player preset seems to have been removed in the new editor (for Dialog Item Used, at least) so I'm trying to use Triggering Player instead in the event:
Dialog - Any Dialog Item is used by Player Any Player with event type Clicked
versus
Dialog - Any Dialog Item is used by Player (Triggering player) with event type Clicked
Also, will Any Player still work even though I can't select it for a new event if it's still in the map from before?
While uploading the map, I got an error: "Upload error: 7/9/2010 (9:02 AM, VALIDATION_WORKING_SET_SCORE_SCREEN_FAIL (D:\Users\Jeff\Appdata\Local\Temp\StarcraftIITemp\Publish/Lunar Special Forces v18.SC2Map\Icon64.tga)"
I've gotten all kinds of crashes since the patch, both in the editor and while testing my maps in game. No idea what's causing them, aside from the fact that I'm testing/working on a map made before the patch. For all I know it'd happen with a new map too though.
I've gotten a lot of crashes with the new editor, typically while renaming or otherwise modifying upgrades (sometimes duplicates of blizzard upgrades). This is on a map that was built with the old editor, so maybe that's why. I already reset all the upgrades to default though, and I'm starting over from scratch remaking them in the new editor.
No, can't publish yet, and there's something that says "Document dependency header file is not available:" then the dependency for each dependency. So far can't login in the editor to publish either.
Yea my problem is I'm still learning sections of the editor so I sometimes miss some of the things that I need to change over. I'll get that figured out eventually though. Actors are still mostly mysterious to me for example, though I've managed to make a few things happen there.
I have a VERY limited knowledge of this, but I'll share what I think I know.
You're very likely duplicating too many things with the probe. I got it to work by only duplicating the things in the image below.
I don't know exactly why you can't duplicate some things without causing problems, but I'm guessing it's either a bug or just a complex feature I don't understand. Duplicating the abilities and units associated with it especially can cause problems if i remember right.
You might even be able to do it while checking less than I did (I'm really no expert).
I'd love a tutorial on making a healing and/or repairing beam with specified sounds and visual effects. I tried adapting a beam tutorial for weapon beams but had no luck there.
If no one knows what's happening, does anyone have any ideas on a better way to make the dialog system for upgrades? Keep in mind that there's 25 levels per upgrade type so I can't very well just list them all out, and even if I could, I'd need to make it so all except the lowest one was unclickable.

You can create an upgrade with that effect and set the upgrade level of that upgrade with triggers (fairly certain anyway).

Yea it seems deleting game variants works, strange.
It's weird, I get errors on different files depending on how I set the game variant.
Edit: scratch that, I just get a different error every time even if I change nothing. That's weird.

What happens if you clear all tip alerts for the second player group before showing them the tip?

I'm able to log in now, and I can confirm Wait is still available lol.
