Well, I have to say it's a very good baseline. Like most of that a lot.
The main tip I have to improve it is the following two words: 'texture play'. In a map like yours, where you cannot place too much doodads since the terrain needs to be open and traversable, the most direct way to improve the looks is by doing fancy stuff on the ground with the textures. Your map currently has some interplay between sand and rock, which definitely isn't bad, but to really make the terrain impressive you need to go a lot further with this. Try a couple of textures and see how it looks like if you cut them off at specific angles, or where specific stones end on a texture.
Here are two examples of what I'm talking about, both from funcmode's showcases in ye aulde Team Liquid Map Art Thread; that guy in particular was always amazing at making mostly empty (melee map) terrains look great.
I'd love to get some feedback on the terrain in my map.
The map is on EU named HAVOC.
Currently it's in a very early stage, but playable. I'd love to get some constructive feedback.
EDIT: imgur album
