Name of the stream, probably. And possibly the epic slogan :D
The name of the person in a smaller font would be helpful too, so anybody who joins can immediately see whether he's watching Mephs, me, or someone else.
Hmm yeah, the thing regarding map night is a good point. Might have to reconsider how we handle that, prefer not to make this thing overlap with other mapster initiatives.
That said; we need all the help we can get. Suggestions, feedback, overlays, anything to spice it up. I don't have anything specifically in mind, but feel free to go wild if you feel like making an overlay. I suppose we'd need a smaller one to have on screen at all time and/or a large one (full screen, basically) for pre-show.
Around 1 hour, yup. As for the content, that's the only thing I can promise will be good, really, hence why I've got faith. Mephs and me are thinking this through to make sure we present something interesting, we're not just gonna show 1 hour of us playing music and placing down shit in a map.
Note that we try to adjust the cast timings to work for (nearly) every part of the planet. SEA will suffer, but if EU casts it late in the evening and US in the afternoon or such, it should work out for everyone. If you're in GB, you could cast from say, 10 to 11, which would be 9 to 10 for European folks and noon-ish for Americans. What we have so far is only a general plan tailored out mostly for me and Mephs.
We do intend to go fairly deep. The days I've set are 'themes' - we intend on picking a new area within these themes. For example, I plan on doing my first terraining bit entirely focused on a map I once made, noting how to best create indoor environments and showing off one or two tricks I used to make it look original. Mephs might choose to make a spell for one day and edit an existing unit for another.
The reason the planning looks so shaky right now is because it simply is only two folks, and we're just starting this off. I'm not going to lie - we can't provide the level of quality casters like Day9 can right off the bat. We just need some people to stick with us and give us some hands to get something great up. Hence why I'm saying that all help is welcome. It'll smooth out over time, I can promise you that.
What is this I don't even?!
Sc2Streamster is going to be Sc2Mapster's streaming channel, where we plan on holding shows (similar to Day9's) focused around mapping. We plan to bring mappers (that's you!) or even just people with a mild interest in mapping (that's you, if it wasn't earlier!) a mostly daily show that revolves around all aspects of the Galaxy Editor.
Cool, so what've you got?
Currently, Sc2Streamster is a project ran by me with backing from Sixen. The plan is that every evening, monday through friday, we bring you something interesting in terms of mapping on the stream. Our Schedule so far:
Monday - Data Mondays are currently not being hosted. Tuesday - Triggering Tuesday! This evening, ??? will be here to show people how to code cleanly and work with triggers. Wednesday - Newbie Wednesday! This day, zeldarules28 will be your host in explaining some of the very basics, so you can get to mapping even if you've never touched the editor before. Thursday - Terraining Thursday! This day, I shall be your host and handle the terraining portion of the editor.
Sunday - Mapcraft! Sundays from 9 to 11 PM CET (GMT+1), which is around noon for US citizens, Mapcast will be a podcast hosted by the lovely TheAlmaity, Mozared and our very own Sixen. We'll have one different guest each weak to talk about the latest maps and buzz in the modding community. Mapcraft is also currently not being hosted.
Note that we plan to hold 10-15 minute Q&A sessions at the end of each 'daily', to tie up some loose ends for people.
Can I help?
We will need a lot of help if we want to keep this running all properly and well, and if you think you can assist us in some way, be it in creating overlays or something else, don't hesitate to throw me a PM and we'll consider your offer.
Alright, so when does this go down, and where?
Well, as you can see, we plan to have a show pretty much every workday. The times are a bit problematic, because all of us are in different timezones.
(NOTE: THE "X PM" AND "YTIME" AND "GMT-Z" ARE PLACEHOLDERS AND WILL BE FILLED IN ASAP) -(US) Data Monday will start at 4 PM on EST, which is GMT-5
-(US) Triggering Tuesday will start at 9 PM on CDT, which is GMT-5
-(US) Newbie Wednesday will start at 8:30 PM on PST, which is GMT-8
-(EU) Terraining Thursday will start at 9 PM on CET, which is GMT+1 -(EU) Sunday's Mapcast will start at 9 PM CET, which is GMT+1 Note that this means that if you are in the US, most EU casts will start between 12 AM and 6 PM in the afternoon, depending on your American timezone. If you are in EU, US casts are mostly unwatchable because they happen at times like 6-7 AM in the morning. Also note that all videos should be available as VOD files on the stream, should you want to view a show lateron.
