I'm still playing SCBW even up until now. But I kinda miss the campaigns that it came with. I mean, yeah, SC2's map editor is much more robust and dynamic but I find SCBW a bit more appealing.
I've been wanting to do this campaign for a long while now but I've been considering just doing it on SCBW for nostalgia's sake and on account of it happening after the fall of Auir. Its about the Lost Tribe. Their wiki article was literally barren with only their decal and its availability in multiplayer. So I grabbed the chance and made a story about them. I've had them sever their cords even before the whole Amon ordeal but still hold major distrust with the DTs.
It'll be accompanied by a single player mod that would slightly change the gameplay. I was thinking of having pylons be linked together, meaning a pylon can only be built within a pylon field with the Nexus the only thing allowed to be built anywhere but also emitting its own pylon field. They also lack photon cannons for defenses but make do for elite Zealots and dragoons that can be trained in the Nexus.
Nothing too character-centric. Its about a group of protoss trying to survive harsher lands after leaving their home and their fellows behind.
But I've digressed for too long. I was wondering if the campaign initiative includes SCBW campaign. If not, that's alright. I would then wonder if you guys would like a campaign from SCBW?
I would say go whatever route you are passionate about. Not too helpful, but if you aren't passionate about making it with the SC2 editor, then don't. The only thing I would question is how many people would actually be able to play SCBW nowadays.
