some of these creatures are pretty cool. how would i go about exporting them from the maps and putting them in my own map? do i just copy paste or is there a better way of exporting? do i just copy the actors and units in the data manager?
The way I did it is to open the map file with MPQEditor and extrat the data xmls. You can then reverse the process to insert them in a new map. There may be a better way but this is pretty fast especially across multiple maps, and gets more so as the amount of data gets larger.
Yeah visually it's similar but the code is very different. I used a data driven approach which allows for a much closer integration of the various elements of the final unit. For example with this unit you can see it allowed me to make the DT swing his scythe rather than standing idle while the Zergling mount launches his attacks.
TPBH uses triggers which isn't really going to let you do any more than join one actor to another at a preset point. I agree that it looks similar but if anyone is annoyed I have to plead ignorance :P
Really like this. I don’t like attachments at all and its a painful process working with them. Can you believe i think i actually maxed the number of attachments on a single model.

No attachments whatsoever, couldn't think of any that would fit this kind of creature.
Plus, who said you need to use attachments to make an awesome creature :>
I was going to spend some time finishing off my creature today but because of the new patch (and the EU servers being down) I couldn't log on into the editor. :(
This is my submission. I figure i should put the first video up. I have a little bit more editing to do on it considering that the patch broke the attack animation and my triggers.
Well beta still aint up for EU, and I just wanna say that when it is, and I'll get my editor back, I'll be happy to make a video of your submission for those of you who cannot do so alone.
I am experienced with Sony Vegas Pro 8
and I have fraps.
however I will not upload the video to youtube for you, you will have to do so alone.
Feel free to send me a PM with your submission map and i'll film and edit it to your desire once beta is up for EU.
@phaos, That kinda looks like a Faceless One, if anyone plays WoW or remembers Warcraft 3 Azjol Nerub. But that's just me...

the ling cavalry looks a lot like something my friend did for his map Planetary Boss Hunt
ha I'd not seen it, I take it you mean this: ?

I figured that was what it was, just thought I'd let you know though
does the contest still end on the 8th?
I'm extending it to the 12th, will update the OP and stick it in the next newspost.

Ahahhahahaha, :).
Updated the OP as well with the new deadline.
Updated the video as the other one was too low res to really be proud of :P
Thanks for Extending the limit, this stuff is TRICKY! (especially since I'm a bit of a noob w the editor)
My Entry: Shard of Adun
No attachments whatsoever, couldn't think of any that would fit this kind of creature. Plus, who said you need to use attachments to make an awesome creature :>
Wanna toy around with it?

That's pretty neat, I think that Shard of Adun would make a nice boss or something.

Yeah I did had in mind to make something rather legendary.

Yes that is a shame as I was hoping to be seeing more submissions, but if this won't be resolved soon we might need another extension.
