That is a planned goal, though I don't know when I'm going to implement it. It's a fair bit of busywork to implement and will probably happen when I'm too bored to do anything else. In any case, only one slot would be available at a time because otherwise I'll probably run out of variant slots on the screen down the road. And the bank could run out of space, too. I've already dedicated a lot of it to stats tracking (development purposes, most of it does not affect the map in any way except for preventing very inexperienced players from picking the game options).
Also, the loading screen says it but I'll repeat it: THANKS for the support, guys! Getting cheers like this gives me the best feeling ever.
There's an infrequent gamebreaking bug just after the "enter your name" phase. It says something like func failed to finish in time or something and the game stays in a black screen after name entry and never starts.
To top that off, I want to comment that... THE GAME IS TOO SLOW. Why are you wasting time with slow pans over landscape and excruciatingly long death sequences. I came to play mafia, not watch pre-canned death sequences a thousand times. The night sequence where you hear people getting killed is ALSO TOO SLOW. Dear god make them faster, Why do I even have to hear the gun shots? If you need to leave them in, can you at least speed up the sequence to less than 8 seconds? Right now it took 2 minutes one time for the dust to settle. And that's 2 minutes a night.
One of the key rules of replayable game design is never to make your players wait with nothing to do. Also, maybe give the dead players something to do? Persistent betting maybe?
Also, make the default discussion, night, and trial times shorter. These things are always shortened in every game, might as well make it default.
You have a good rendition of actual Mafia here, but you dearly need to speed things up since this game is supposed to be highly replayable.
PS: Put in the help file how to write your last will, over half the people each game have no idea how to do it.

Though I disagree with the posters method, I think an ingame option to "skip sequences" would be good. Just a little check box where, if clicked by the host, will skip all the lengthy sequences, or perhaps a button that the host can press in-game to skip the current sequence.
Also, an option to minimize the chat would be nice too, where you only see the last three bars of chat and the box isn't that big. I found it very annoying that it was so large, kept getting in the way.

I've never heard of a night sequence taking 2 minutes or even much more than 30 seconds. Also, 8 seconds would be a clusterfuck of sound.
Also, yes, I'm speeding up the transitional times. Also, no, the default trial and especially night times are fine. If the night is any shorter, the mafia will never be able to make meaningful decisions. They'll just pick some random guy because at 20-30 seconds they'll never be able to make more than one or two sentences. I'll lower the day defaults slightly (3 -> 2.5), but any lower for the trial will cause the accused to have no hope of making an argument in time.
For comparison, excluding transitions, Epicmafia games are FOUR TIMES longer.
Which version were you playing? The timing is a fair bunch faster since midday yesterday.
Edit: Fuck it, I'm tired of this whining about game time. For the next version I added a button to remove night sequences (this edit before the above post was made)
Edit2: Also why would you want to see only 3 bars? I can add a minimize button to hide the box/background, but I am not editing the amount of chat lines you can see.
My feedback is that this map is great, but you need to test before you publish. The current published version (and ironically #2 map in NA) is broken and unplayable.
It's good that you shortened everything. The sequences where all you do is wait can be really long because of huge LAG that somehow occurs in every game, it should been taken into account.
It's important to understand that the crowd of epicmafia is very different from the one playing starcraft 2. We are used to fast action, not waiting. Even if you like having long night sequences, trials, etc. just remember that the frigging pans of the landscape, death sequences and night time shooting where you do absolutely nothing are completely not needed.
One minute? That's not enough time to pardon one person and lynch another, let alone have much of a discussion (unless they're using Ballot or plain Majority mode where it's a lot more sensible to have a shorter day).
Also, the pans of the landscape are an improvement over what was there to begin with (nothing). If you really want speed, there's of course the option to remove night sequences and shorten night to 30 seconds (really short but whatever). The entire night literally lasts less than 40 seconds with those options. In the next update, I'm allowing chat during the execution sequence, so maybe it won't be so monotonous.
Yeah I noticed that too. I'm personally comfortable with the pace you set by default. Gives room for more drama. But what can we do.. some people are just impatient.
I'd like to help you publish on SEA (Which is currently lacking in good custom maps). Drop me a PM if you're interested and we'll see if we can work something out.
Fixed for you there. Don't fret about the whining Rev.. you're just dealing with the ADD generation here. These people don't care about how to play the game, they just want it to be really fast. WoW is the most successful game ever made and the amount of whiners it has attracted could probably populate a city.
I know! The game I was in... 1 or 2 people quit after waiting at the setup screen for 20 seconds. Shesh. You are totally right, this entire generation is a little ADD from all the super fast technology. lol

Feel free to Send me a PM if you have any questions/concerns!
In my opinion, having nothing is better than pans of the landscape and lengthy death sequences (especially this). In EpicMafia they had nothing, it's more fun. Why? Because discussing things is me being active at least. Yes people are impatient, but you are oversimplifying the problem. I think they are MUCH more impatient when they are unable to play (aka all the slow fades, all the time we have to wait to hear gunshots, etc.). I'd rather cut directly to the chase (and back to me playing) than watch death sequences that (again) we have seen a million times. If you want to use starcraft 2 graphics to make it all pretty, at least it should be really fast.
On another note, people don't like night discussion times because most of the people don't get to play at all, they just sit and wait. At EpicMafia, the Mafia and I always decide who to kill within a minute or less. EpicMafia actually moves pretty fast because once the mafia all votes for someone, the night ends immediately. If doctors and such haven't picked someone to protect, etc. it just protects no one cause they were too slow (makes sense in real life I guess too). The same happens during the say, you can vote immediately and once everyone has voted the day immediately ends. Long day and night timers are fine if it's like this (although trolling can happen with ppl that drag it out).
It would be even more trolltastic if the night ended in 1/4 the time because both mafia immediately spammed vote on someone. It's decision time, plain and simple. It would confuse the shit out of players if the night ended prematurely. Even if I let the night end once EVERY role has made a decision, then we'd run into the problem of having the full night every time a vigilante wanted to kill nobody or if a citizen wanted to keep the vest off.
Also, I'm not sure why you don't like the landscape pans because they're just there to make the night less boring. The alternative was to have a static cam or a plain black screen. Also, why are you complaining about the death sequences? Each takes 5-8 seconds and they can be turned off. The fade times also happen a grand total of TWICE per day/night and take up 6 seconds total; why is this an issue?
Also, my game is NOT epicmafia. If you want it to have absolutely nothing except just epicmafia + 3s cinematics, then you're out of luck.
I made a map much like this, based off a game that my friends and I play IRL based off the same game this is based off of (the difference is mine is in real time, and I don't know as much about mapping as you do). Confused yet?
I'll need to try this out.

Nevermind, it's fixed now. Really, why does breaking array size break an entire thread?
I was in class so I couldn't test it much.

Thanks. I spent last night and this afternoon playing. :) My friend's even getting back into SC2 because of how much she liked Mafia. :)
When ppl know each other, as in friends, the game's kinda ruined ie extra forces working for mafia.
Congratz on making it to number 2 on the list. That's really amazing. It was doing decent before reset and it just skyrocketed after it.
EDIT: This should give mappers hope that they can rise through the pages also.

Awesome game, but can't seem to find much players in the EU servers at the moment. Are they all hosting their own games or something?
I like the graveyard thing, but it updates too early. This kinda spoils the announcement scene on who died.
The repick function seems to repick the same host again and again and again.
WTF man.
