Wow, looks to me like bronze heaven... and also like the king of stalemates.
The entrance to the base disables any form of ground attack because of the narrow choke points, encouraging void ray/viking/muta/BC/carrier/other air unit massing.
No offense, but I HATE when people make melee maps and find it incredibly clever to put a ton of gold minerals that the start of the base. That screws up everyones build order and messes up the game.
There are no expansions.
Basically no form of early anything will be successful. Pretty much whoever wins the rock paper scissors wins this map. So that is my opinion of it. A very long game of rock paper scissors.
Also, now that I look at it more closely, the bottom team has a HUGE advantage. The map isn't even balanced!
Once again, I mean no offense by this, but this map is horribly designed. It looks okay, but you really need to work on the layout. If you want me to give you some advice just send me a private message.
Note that I when I say your map is okay, I mean that I like that tileset. Once again not ripping on your map, but you need to work on pretty much everything. I would look into getting some terraining lessons (tutorials or talk to a mentor) too if you are going to be making melee maps, because for them to become popular, they have to be REALLY good.
This pretty much states everything, but then again reading Draconis description states it is a fortress map so it should be a small choke-point & allot of money inside the fortress right ?
But as stated, what about air ? You could block off air pathing so its 1 big fight at front of castle. But then I would just put down 30 upgrades tanks on a Terran and afk.
Don't take me wrong Draconis but I assume you are still rather young, if so its normal you play around which such ideas. But don't expect many players outside your friends base and younger people too enjoy such unbalanced maps though.
Nonetheless, good luck on your future projects :) And excuse me if you are like 25 years old, but I strongly doubt that for now in a non-offensive way ;)
Balance between base A and B is really really bad.
The terrain is 'filled' terrain depending on heights.
Water isn't everywhere, you missed a few spots.
You add foliage over the whole map, what's the use of making lag on stuff you don't see ?
0 doodads. 0 terrain elevation. Allot of ramps that doesn't make sense, just make 1 or 2 ramps ?
Why is base A hugging the entrance while base B is on the other side of the map ?
Check the spaces across your bridge. Base B clearly got a advantage for placing defensive focused objects.
The whole map doesn't make much sense for me currently man.
That's just suggestions though. But I'm not going too review something I don't understand.

Haven't looked at the map, but here's a suggestion. You can build one half of the map and then copy the terrain onto the right, and then flip it. That way both sides are perfectly mirrored and balanced, like blizzard's maps. Once you do that you can change the terrain textures and doodads and stuff so each side looks unique, but still plays the same.

If you're just having fun making some maps, then that's cool, keep it up. If you really want to make a great balanced map then I suggest you spend a good amount of time playing ladder games. Even better, I suggest watching some GSL (Global Starcraft Leage) games. They're a lot of fun to watch and you'll learn about the subtleties of macro game balance.
