So when 1.5 goes lives, it will effectively reset the entire popularity system, correct? So if I wanted to change the name of my currently popular map, the time to do it is during the switchover since I'll lose my popular slot anyway. Can anyone confirm?
@jcraigk: Go Are you talking about a map on 1.4 or arcade beta? If it's on the beta you will lose it yes so you can publish it with a different name on 1.5 live. If it's on 1.4 you would need to publish it again as a different map in order to change names, and your original map would stay there too.
You're missing my point, actually. I'm talking about current popularity ratings for maps on live servers. When it switches from 1.4 to 1.5, I am assuming that the popularity of all maps (measured in hours played in last 24 hours) will be reset to zero. This is implied from the note earlier about how those maps not ready for 1.5 won't show up in searches. Can anyone confirm if this popularity reset is actually taking place? If so, it's the perfect time to change the name of your map to something else as long as everyone knows to go looking for it there since it will have to re-climb the popularity ladder anyway.
Okay, so it's true that when the servers come back up, it's a mad race to the front page again. The criteria for getting there are different, but everyone starts at zero.

You can now rate game up to 5 stars and there is an open lobby list of games currently hosted. Also, all of the maps that are currently on Battle.net will be put in to the "Other" catagory.

UPDATE

It was just the enUS editor using the enUS localization by default.
You need to change it under map -> locale everytime you load the map in the beta editor, if you are going to change something. Else it will create a new localization with your changes.
You can delete localizations by unchecking them in the modification window. A map works fine with only 1 localization. It will be always used then.
Right, that's available on the Beta server, but it won't be available on the live servers until Tues. At that point, reviews will start to be written, etc and the race will be on. They're not going to carry over the reviews and ratings from the beta server(s), I'm sure.

There wont be much race, people will just keep playing nexus wars. (for the first 100+ players or so, they will need to search it but after that the old maps will be in the top....)

How much disk space is expected to eat that new patch? I almost feel like deleting the old patch folders which only purpose is watching replays, which even I don't do even though I watch lots of current replays.
Ey... what about these Battlenet Tags names intorduced with D3, will they be implemented with the current patch too? or in HotS?

The beta installation has approx 9 gig.
Blizzard used a picture with a download of 1.32 gig and one with 92mb for their patch instructions on their page.
The beta was 9 gigs because it was the entire game - It was independent of your usual sc2 installation. The new patch should be a few hundred MBs tops.
Deleting the old patch folders won't do anything because they'll be redownloaded if you do due to the new streaming feature (Which, by the way, I hate. It makes sense for progressive games like WoW and D3, but is entirely pointless for SC2)
Battle tag won't be implemented, there was no mention of it and sc2 already has something similar.

@jcraigk: Go In 1.5 the hours played thing will be gone entirely.

Anyone know the number of characters that will appear in the name of the game over the icon before it gets truncated with "..."?

I say let us have battletags, but also let us add users to our accounts...
Please ... for the love of god ... don't be a repeat of 1.3 -_-
For once common sense prevails, bravo Blizzard, bravo. :)
