Just to add my opinion here, I just want to say that I dont understand the purpose of these threads.
They are neither amusing nor helpful/beneficial in anyway. Yet, the past few days have been an influx of this type of thing. Boredom isn`t an excuse for turning this place into a big joke. Im starting to lose hope in any of you actually contributing to meaningful and intelligible discussions.
Yea, there are too many of these now...
Anyway, i voted 16-(whatver), even though i actually got the sc2beta about a month before my birthday. I think i actually once played sc way before that, but i barely remember it so i dont count it...
I would atleast expect our Off-topic to be on some level of relevance and interest. This is not the case.
Its more an Off-topic for the levels of that of a kid.
How old were you?. What race are you?. What gender are you?. Really??
But yeah, I guess we all have different views on status and what counts as meaningful. I just find this somewhat distasteful and embarrassing.
Im pretty certain a "Whats your fav pizza?" off topic thread will be created tomorrow..
Again, these threads are perfectly fine and acceptable! but Im just stating that they are not to my personal liking, and I find it surprising that its been so prevalent this past week. But enjoy, Im really not asking anyone to care about my opinion here. Just stating it, and moving out.
My friend told me about Starcraft when I was either 6 or 7. He was in 5th grade, I was in 1st. I remember I traded Rise of Nations for Starcraft... what a good trade. I'm now 14... heehee (Probably youngest ACTUAL starting age so far, and probably youngest person on this site that knows what grammar is)
Depends on what you call 'playing'. I think I got it when I was 8, as I remember Starcraft as the first game that really started learning me English - I played Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keeper and Theme Park before, but the first one required very little attention for language, the second one was localized and the third one only had really straightforward english. The very first time I played it I was wondering (as Zerg) why the hell those huge flying intimidating looking beasts didn't attack the goddamn marines. Surely if you're that large and flying you should be able to kill stuff! I ended up playing a map or two without making any Overlords because I had the thought of them being so useless planted in my mind. I also remember wanting to build one of each building and not for the life of me figuring out why the hell I couldn't build this 'Extractor' building. Obviously it couldn't be on those geysers since they were a terrain prop with the purpose of blocking off some space.
I didn't really play it properly (as in; didn't completely suck bollocks at it) until 2002 or such, when I was 12, re-installed the game, and actually completed it.
Awww that one was awesome. Probably best "Theme" game there is :D
I started really being able to play games with my 3rd pc (and the first one I bought myself).
The very first was a 486er. Second one was a 166Mhz. The third one had 1.8 Ghz I believe.
Yea.. I had to try to play games on a 166Mhz computer when CPUs with more than 2 Ghz were already available...
I had to check every game's requirements beforehand. Man I was pumped when I got that new rig back then and could virtually play EVERYTHING!
I could finally play C&C1 and it wasn't a lagfest!
Yes...I fail. XD Had to remake. Pick your age from 0-100 when you started playing starcraft.
I played when I was about 8...I think...
Ummm 23 this year.... sc came out in 1998... must have been 11 as I didnt play it when it first came out.

This isn`t aimed at you specifically, Yukaboy.

/Disappointed
For Age(1-99) repeat ... ... ... If: Age(14) == 1998 then: Set Release of SC1 = First played SC1
Yes, I have no clue of programming.
The purpose of this tread is its means.

I was in the 5th grade, I remember that much.
I started pretty young. xD
I remember telling my friend, "Oh yeah, Starcraft 2 will prolly only take a few years."
Well, I was wrong. :P
(I'm 19 now, fyi)

And who said they played it before they were 5?????
Tempting... Very. Tempting. *cuts of hand to prevent himself from opening that thread*
I'd like to change my vote to the pizza one.
Just to let you know, I am the first to vote on pizza. :P
