Phil Gonzo, who works at Blizzard, released close-ups of models present in StarCraft II for the release of Wings of Liberty, alongside some details about each of the respective model. He's done the same for alpha and beta SC2 models, as well as HotS, too, today. The HotS art is awaiting approval, however, and should appear "Soon"(tm).
There are some on page 2, by the way, including an alpha DT Phase Prism that looks very much like a Xel'Naga device. (And upon which the current Stalker model was based)
It made me remember a biiiiig terran unit which I cant remember the name that was shown in the first sc2.com. It was like a megazord, it was created by joining terran buildings (the barracks were its legs), buildings started floating and joining in the air. I think the name was Terrathor ...
I also remember that the mothership had a shield that would stop incoming projectiles, after the shield has gone, the projectiles capsules would drop in the floor
That was a nice concept. Imagine it be implemented in melee as a terran building, craaaaaaaaaaaaaazy.
Who's up to do the data? I could make the modeling in the case that the model's not in the editor.

It's funny because WC3 had these elevators, yet again and again I hear how SC2 is "hands down" stronger. Embarassing.
I would really like to see these elevators made though, I assume the data will need an effect to forcibly move units towards the cliff, with a 'boost cliff' doodad on the cliff's edge and an obstruction in pathing before it, they can't pass that obstruction normally without the elevator moving them.
Note how that guy's elevator already does this, it doesn't purely move units up, it moves them towards the cliff too.

Those fatties/old Infestors/whatevertheirnameis keep cracking me up... I couldn't have taken the race seriously if they had made it into multiplay. Just look at them... They're like fat, happy crabs that look like they have no idea where they're going. I can totally imagine a dozen of them walking in circles as if in a bumper car ride while hearing "OM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOMNOM" in the background.
Search for 'dock' in the doodads tab and something along the lines of 'wall docking bay' should be one of the suggestions, it's the same doodad but with only one variation and no animation.

They are only used in dungeon levels. Here's a tutorial for using them. http://world-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net/elevators.php
And the 'fatty', I don't wanna comment, it causes me pain just to look at it. I guess it's fun to use in some customs maybe.
@midiway: Go
are you thinking of terratron

Ahhh, the Dalaran platform thingies. Nice memory, I had completely forgotten about those. Good mention too, something like that should be in SC...
@xcorbo: Go Although that exact model isn't in SC2 some space platform doodads look very close. Animations would have to be added of course.
