I'm kinda new here so bare with me if this has been answered already. I'm using mapcraft on a mac and I'm running the latest version of snow leopard.
Whenever I launch a map through mapcraft and everything works fine but the AI fails. It gives me a message somewhat along the lines of "the mainstat (or mainstay) has failed and gives me a list of what units it has failed on. The game runs normally after that though. Just the AI only collects minerals.
It's a problem with the AI Triggers you're using. What AI are you running? I know rrowland's Behemoth AI and Callex's Mimic AI both work flawlessly.
Could you explain how you got Behemoth/Mimic to work? I tried launching both maps with MapCraft 1.5 for Mac, but SC2 loaded and then it said something like "map could not be loaded."
EDIT: I know that I didn't follow the directions Mimic's creator gave to put Mimic into a map, but I don't have the galaxy editor, and the default map should work anyway, right?
Sorry to bump on this one, but I've been unable to figure out how to get this working on the Mac..!
Got the Yabot maps working just fine as well as the other AI maps (Where the AI just mines really)..
What Enigmod is saying about putting it into a map must be the problem, so how could that be done without the Galaxy Editor? Would it be possible to fx. download a version that's already in a map and launch it with MapCraft?
( i cant even get mapcraft to work for my mac. i dont understand at all. i downloaded the newest version of mapcraft yet every single map is unable to open.
Download the YABOT maps, you can find them on this site - those should definitely work. Also, read the entire MapCraft thread, there are some various trouble-shooting tips there.
Place them in your user directory, in a separate folder. Launch MapCraft, select single player, browse to your YABOT map, hit launch... should work. Some people have reported problems when keeping their maps in the downloads folder or whatev.
I think what mac users really need is a launcher that will allow us to select races, map and Ai type. I've loader Behemot but can only play as zerg vs protoss. Other maps and ai triggers like green tea might become usable with a launcher?

I installed the behemoth AI and still nothing sorry for the noob-ness
but what is a trigger and is it something else that I download as well? thanks so much for the help, you are the man!
Triggers are actions ran in Maps. Simply downloading the Behemoth AI and opening it via MapCraft should run the map just fine.
For Mac, where do you put MimicAIData.SC2Bank?

Could you please describe how you got Behemot working? How you launch it, got it setup etc etc, would be helpful. Cheers,

1. Download the AI Map
2. Create a new folder (I named it 'maps') in "StarCraft II Beta" folder.
3. Put the downloaded AI map into the new foler.
4. Start Mapcraft >> Single Player >> Browse >> Launch

Ive been trying to play offline with Behemoth's TvR. However when I open the map, the AI doesnt load correctly, so it just mines.
As soon as the game begins I get the error A script logic error occurred Player # Race. Invalid mainstate.
Im running Mapcraft 1.5 and SC2 beta 0.17. on OS 10.6.4.
Ive read that the location of the map brings up issues so I have tested it under the SC2 folder, the Blizzard folder on My Docs, on the desktop, etc.
Any help please?
SC2 Beta 0.17? That build is old, so make sure you update to Patch 16.
First of all, I have a Mac and I can guarantee that you do not have the galaxy editor because there isn't one for the Mac.
That's correct, MapCraft makes things nice and easy, :).
