Hey i was wandering if someone could teach me lots of stuff, or do it yourself, but the Sc1 finatics will love you when you receate TEMPLE SIEGE!@! that was the best game... but not fps or 3person either... just the old way of having it, ASSIN FTW!!!@
I am not familiar with the map, but it is not that difficult to use the trigger and world editor for Starcraft II, and even less if you had some experience with Warcraft, or Starcrafts previous engine editors. Plus, there are a community here that are more than happy to help you out. Try looking a bit around for varies tutoriols on getting started, there are a lot!
sc1 was the simplest map creating ever! i was able to do it in my teens! SC2, there are many more options you cna do to make your game better. I would suggest looking have video's on youtube from OneTwoSC. The one i chose was advanced tower defense. Great tutorial, he explains everything! He has a ton of videos, like 72 or something, of all tutorials! It's great!
Want to describe what the heck temple siege is though? I assume since it was made for sc1 it is a simple rts game, right? That should be really easy to remake.

Yea. Simple..... Its a hero game where each hero has mana <vespene> and 4 spells... every time a hero levels it gets some points to spend on either getting the next spell mana gain, total health, money, spawn number. Then each person picks a hero and 3v3 with 3 bases to capture surrounded by turrets < P Cannon > and it takes 30 seconds to cap, then more units spawn and mindlessly run at the enemy base. The turrets are really strong and you start off grinding on the spawn till you get an advantage over your opponents and then you attack them. every so often it becomes night and all you can see is yourself , if your DT you now become cloaked. then people try to gang up and kill the other peeps. You heal at you temple and you only have 3 lives each. I cant really make it though i would like to cause my pc can barely handle the editor and i cant play online at all!! :(
Actually SC2 is much more advanced than anything else, and WC3 can be intimidating to newbies.
It's the data editing window segments that really annoys people.
Temple Siege was basically the only popular DotA / BattleArena in Starcraft 1. Players would select 1 hero and go out and destroy the enemy base. Map editing wasn't fun on starcraft 1 at all because we would have to use 3rd party tools as well as creating unnecessary, tedious, trigger systems. There was no such thing as events, actors, camera, etc.
@m1k3sz There is a fun Temple Siege- like map called Storm of the Imperial Sanctum. Its on the first page of the custom list, you should check it out?
But QueenGambit, I already played that and I don't like it. Its too fun and I'd rather see the familiar heroes and spells.*
I am a bit confused. How come you can't play online? Even using my mobile usb internet when I am on duty, I can still manage games online just fine without too much lagency, also if you're computer runs the game slow try reducing the grapphic. There was another guy ranting about Starcraft lagging, and no f- way he would reduce the graphic to some 1990 graphich look, soz but it's a heavy game, so reduce or snooze. But anyhow, there are lots of computers that might even struggle on lower settings as well, although, even an older laptop can run it, the actual req. isn't that bad. So I am a bit confused what the problem about playing online is.
Lol... What it is, my graphics is the lowest it can go and my Internet is absolutely pro... I would love to be on the dev team but games like phantom take about 8 mins to load and so every 1 leaves and I never play or get booted for lag. So I'd love to help make it and play it on friends pcs but can't on mine... D:
I think its time to step away from SC1, no matter how great a map was in SC1, porting it directly to SC2 is wasteful of Galaxy Editor's capabilities. However, we should definitely learn from the concepts of the old maps for brainstorming new ideas.
We COULD make a map called "Temple Siege", and modernize it with the current capabilities of the editor, but it will definitely not play like the original, so the only thing you really took was the name and the general concept anyways.
Your description sounds like another AOS variant. There are already plenty of those on SC2 already, just look around battle.net.
Some lack the simplicity that made SC1 maps fun. New features shouldn't convoluted, but should be intuitive and quick to pick up on. But that is going offtopic.
Didnt see this here. I am trying to make a Temple Siege map actually (however, with some new spells and such, and a completely remoddled terrain)
I could really use someone to help me with the data and triger editing though. Im still working on the highly advanced terrain, and im working on installing sight blockers to put new twists on it. The linkis here.
Any help would be greatly apreciated, because i mainly need people who are good at Starcraft 2 editing, and preferably also know the Starcraft 1 game.
ANd believe me, it will be unique unlike those other maps. Its Temple Siege. Nothing is like Temple Siege.... :D

True, although it would take some time. I myself was not the best with triggers. And the data editor is far more complex. Making a new map has loads of trial and error in starcraft 2, but you can still do it with your teens.

Hmm alright. I took the liberty in asking the creators of Temple Siege if they are making it. You can check my post here:
