Not sure there would be need for a separate website. Author would just need to create a patreon or indiegogo or similar project and keep in mind the Blizzard TOS (no exclusive content for donating users and such).
Because of the massive fraud risk. Below illustrates what I mean.
I could submit "my" project to it and get tons of backing money. However it turns out "my" project is not mine but someone else's highly popular map so I get tons of money and the content author sees none of it. Do not think I will be returning any of because it is now in *insert country which does not respect the west here*.
Obviously I would not do that as I have at least some morals. However there are thousands of scammers world wide who would not flinch for a second to do something like that.
There was actually a kickstarter for the StarCraft Universe project about 1½ year ago:
And has it returned anything next to a tech demo? Even that has fallen to rock bottom with regards to popularity.
Undead Assault 3 had some form of donation system setup for it. However when the official map makers left me in charge while they served their country I have no idea what has happened to the funds.
You could always contact a map maker and ask if there is a way you could give them support for their map.
I'm not sure there would be that many people willing to go out of their way to donate to make it worthwhile. I've never advertized or asked for money but I've had one person donate to paypal and I've had others ask me for my paypal account but then not give me anything. I guess when it came down to it they just didn't feel like giving their money away, which I can totally understand.
A big enough project which rellies on funding would probably have their own kickstarter page up and be advertizing it already.
I believe the majority here misunderstand his English, he is not asking to donate money to other map makers, he wants to get money, like every other time.

I understand brother. I have not spoken or written French in over 10 years so I have no doubt how horrible it would be.
I want you to succeed, the same as I want everyone to succeed, myself included. But I believe it is a waste of time trying to flog the dead horse that is the arcade. Whilst I cannot tell you what to do, I believe in terms of making money we must switch platforms and engines. At this moment it will be easier to get blood from a stone than money from the arcade community simply because the majority of us are poor, and the numbers are not there.
I would like to donate and support project for Sc2 dont you?

But that's the only case I've seen.
@egodbout: Go
Look, Goa already explained how to use paypal functionality inside your map to to ease donating for players.

Also NOTD team performed a successful kickstarter.

I don't want to see you end up like me.
Let arcade maps be sponsored, just like everything else in the gaming scene. The scene will grow if restrictions are lifted.
