I understand, why Tya won, he's been here mapmaking for many years, and created a shitton of maps in a wide range between experimental and mainstream. But that pirate, wow! Must be a talented motherfucker! Is it his second map or something?
Pirate did turn based rpg before, but now he realy catch the clue of what "Arcade" game means, and what Blizzard wish to see. Dwarven combat is simple and lot of fun. The design seems somewhat similiar to flappy bird to me (in terms of simplicity/fun)
Also, his game could be easily ported to ipad, for example.
Basicaly what Blizz expect is a multiplayer experience with a simple but original and fun game mechanic, some randomness and replayability. Not the second starcraft universe.
Congratulations to Pyrate, Tya and I dont know the other top 5. I dont think they are mapsters. Syco got in the there for top 5 Congratulations. Bounty Im surprise you are not on top 5 that really sucks.
Death by Fantasy got a little recognition I want to say Congratulations to Rut and Moustro.
Gratz to pirate for figuring out the system. It makes me sad, in a way, that it did win though, because that confirms my suspicions about what succeeds in the arcade and what blizzard favors in the arcade. This is why I'm sticking with custom campaigns.
Grats to all the winners. Im especially happy with Dwarven Combat taking the grand prize, I think it is a much more exemplary entry when it comes to representing the capabilities of the Arcade then the last winner Raynor Party was.
congrats to all and at least a mapster won. congrats pirate.

Yes, congratulations to all that participated, and in particular the top awarded.
Hope to see you in the top played lists soon as well.
Good job all.

Grats Pirate! It's well-deserved!
I so hope these are a yearly thing. I really enjoyed Reach and Breach

Thank you all! I (obviously) could not have done this without the knowledge I've picked up over the least 5 years at sc2mapster.
@Tya, congrats to you as well! I think they said at Blizzcon that they intend for the contest to be annual.
