So I thought after streaming working on my map last night, what if we did a daily/nightly or regularly scheduled Q&A editor session where random top level mappers can answer questions or demonstrate mapping tricks on a live stream in HD?
Could cover anything from making neat weird shit to making useful weird shit...
I'm just curious if there is anyone who would like something like this? Almost like a day[9] daily but for custom mappers!
Thoughts? If there's enough interest I might just start doing it, at least an hour here or there.
I vote yes. Seeing I'm strongly considering a comeback to the editor lifestyle I would really appreciate this stuff and be a viewer and hell, eventually a caster who knows !
But you should know who you are allowing too cast though, not sure if wolf stated the same but, too prevent 'bad methods' to get viral.
From what I remember designing stuff isn't THAT hard, or triggering. But doing it correctly for the best performance / bugless is what makes or brakes you.
I personallly enjoyed the stream very much due to its interactivity. Ever since Custom Live and ModCraft went down the toilet i think this community has been itching for something to bring everyone to one place to learn/socialize.
I suppose this could be something I could contribute to occasionally. I don't see myself having the time to make it a regular (ie. daily/weekly) thing though :-/
I think it's a great idea Mephs, and regardless of all the yelling that's been going on, I think you have the skills to do it. Just make sure to, as Day9 put it, 'keep your ego out of the game'. Keep it friendly and in service of the community and you will earn respect - constantly plugging it with Smashcraft references will only bore people.
Anyway, go for it, I'm curious to see what you can do with it :)

Streaming/Voice Chatting Mephs could not differ more from Battle.net forum Mephs lol.
I think it could be a great idea. If the ego stays out and whoever's involved is helpful, professional, and mature about his/her answers, this could be really cool. Kinda like modcraft.
@Mephs
Were you planning on doing it by yourself or was this a suggestion to get a bunch of people involved?
Ya this sounds like a cool idea. I think what would be even more interesting is if there could be more than 1 experienced mapmaker on live at a time, communicating with eachother. Yes, it would create arguments, but that would be the point. If 2 mapmakers have 2 different ways of doing something, and they could add to eachothers ideas, I think they could come up with some really interesting stuff.

I think if Mephs and I did that it would easily get 10k+ viewers.
I'll try and set up a time to do this next week, right now I'm on crunch time trying to get Smash 2.0 ready, so I don't have a lot of time to dedicate to anything else atm, but just getting a general idea of what people think of the idea. It's just me for now, but if you think you have the skills to contribute to this it'd make my life easier.
And the ego thing is just trolling, I have my own way of promoting things, so relax.

I think it would be a great idea. It would help many of the lower skilled mappers get things done. It would have to be done correctly though :/.

Great to be back and part of the community again!

Just for pure entertainment purposes.

Well, I would be available over Skype for something like this, although maybe not all the time.

Speaking of which I'm streaming development right now, so... yea: http://www.livestream.com/mephssc
So you're calling out trolling in the same sentence in which you mention your own trolling background?
