The German PR now walks on stage wearing a golf cap, welcoming in the men of StarCraft 2.

Here's Jonny Ebbert, senior game designer.

Heart of the Swarm as you play as Kerrigan, challenging queens to surrender groups of swarms to her. Over the course of the campaign you will tap into the core fantasy of the Zerg.

Battle focuses, her special skills, will be unlockable throughout the campaign.

You can also customise your zerglings, letting you upgrade their abilities through "mutations".
16:37:32
Expect it to be around 20 missions in length. Along with it the Blizzard DOTA mod is on the horizon.
16:51:37
They won't talk about Blizzard DotA until BlizzCon sadly.
Not too much, really. They mostly revealed WoW stuff.
I found some interesting news pieces on a german news site.

Blizzard DotA will be released around the release of HotS.
Now a word for word translation: "Additionally the battlenet will be extended, for example with a search function for games."
No idea what's that supposed to mean. Maybe the feature wanted by many, the possibility to look for open lobbies?

The marketplace is progressing very slowly. It's doubtful if it will come with HotS, Blizzard itself doesn't know.
Well, so. I was on Gamescom yesterday and man, it's full.
Diablo III is the best-visited booth of all of them. In average you have to wait like 3 hours to get to play for 15 minutes. Sc2 HotS is still doing pretty good with 1+ hours waiting in line.
I was hyped for DotA 2 but after trying to watch a complete match, even with it being casted, I can honestly say I got bored and did something else. I know it will be fun to play it unless I start hearing about major issues with the controls or something though.
I hate when Blizzard lies so shamelessly. They don't release the marketplace because they don't want to, for god's sake, what's exactly hard on making a custom map shop? even more, they already have the payment technologies with the D3 AH.
At this rate, no one of us will be here when they notice SC2 custom map scene is awful.

I'm having a hard time being straightforward here without hurting your feelings (since I don't want to), but I'll be plain: that was a really stupid comment.
How would you integrate it into bnet? What are the standards for getting maps up there? Is blizzard going to judge maps themselves? Will they need to set up a new branch in the company for people judging maps and managing the marketplace? How will the payment go? How will they let people obtain bought maps? The system currently in place doesn't really allow for any of that, as simply 'downloading a map and hosting it' is out of the question with the new battle.net. Is the map marketplace going to be multiplayer only? If not, how will they sell campaigns or other linked-map missions? What will happen with the popularity system to make all of this work - it's no use getting 100 maps on the marketplace if some of them never fill up, and they cannot feature all of them. And what about the legal issues? Can Blizzard go as far as to claim ownership of everything placed on their marketplace? And then, how much will they ask per map? What will the rights of the author be? In what way will they integrate team-made maps into this system, or will they not support this at all? Is the system going to be integrated into the game or is the map marketplace going to be a browsable site?
And heck, I could go on. None of these are questions Bob from the innovations department can answer in an afternoon, allowing the programmers to go to work on setting it up the next day. The map marketplace is a freaking ONLINE FREE MARKET for VIRTUAL WARES. It's something that has NEVER been done before. It's completely revolutionary. You don't get that right in one go.
And they can always check what's uploaded at the store, and slow payments for a week, removing them if people detect their product is lame, and charge you fpr uploading maps to the store.
The only difference with their D3 AH system is that players can't check what they're buying, which can be fixed by giving trial-time to play the maps or being able to get back the money if the map sucks.
You can't be serious. After all the questions I just brought up? Did you even read my post? How can you possibly think it's as easy as copy-pasting the Steam system? The thing is, if it was that simple, then Blizzard would freaking do it and turn a profit out of it.
I just came from the Gamescom and I'm pretty disappointed about the presentation regarding "Heart of the Swarm".
You were able to play 2 missions of the Zerg campaign but you did not even had 1 new Zerg unit in the missions. (excluding Kerrigan)
The interface of the campaign was rather nice designed. I liked it better than the one in "Wings of Liberty".
I think, that Blizzard didn't want to show to much since they save it all for Blizzcom meh...
Btw, my headset was defect so I had no sound while playing ._.
The missions playable at gamescom are the same as in that press invitational a couple of months back. And there are no new units because there are no new units yet.
And three hours for Diablo 3 is actually nothing. I was ten minutes after the venue opened at the Battlefield 3 line, and they said waiting time would be nine (!) hours, so they didn't even let you join the line anymore.

Now I understand why you suck at triggering, Lon! ;D
I can assure you that it's nothing like that. You can't just take some remotely-related script from a different game (which isn't even finished!) and expect it not to blow up in your face hard.
This article on http://www.videogamer.com has documented what was revealed at Gamescom.

Not to my knowledge, at least not so far. If you find any, feel free to post :b

Also, THANK GOD: http://www.gamestar.de/index.cfm?pid=88&pk=2560334
This short article states that they are not working on a Starcraft MMORPG. Good news. :)
I'm almost afraid to ask, but.... what the hell does that mean? :S
Seems like some sort of marketplace for trading maps. And the curse of dota is coming with the expansion.

Means they cant find a good way of making profit with the marketplace so theyre not working hard on it. =P
It was probably meant to be more like "Over the course of the campaign you will see the inner workings of the Zerg"
You'd think the "Take a % of all proceeds" plan would be a really fast way to solve that problem.
I want to see some new footage of the new zerg units.
