As I was working on a map for TotalBiscuit's upcoming Clan Wars, my OS crashed as I saved the document. When I turned it back on, the map I was trying to save could not open, and I was given the error message "Dependency data could not be loaded". Any other map that I've tried to open produces no errors, and the broken map does not use any other dependencies than the Multiplayer Mod dependency. I would copy/paste the terrain map component into a new file if I was able to, but that would require me to open the map in the editor.
Seeing as the deadline for TotalBiscuit's Clan Wars is coming close, I would very much appreciate any help - I will not be able to make it in time if I am to start all over.
I attached the map file if anyone wants to have a look at it.
use an MPQ-editor (Ladik's MPQ-Editor) to copy the terrain to a working map, there are several files related to terrain and hopefully it didnt use custom textures set.
mpq editor doesnt work for me, sry i have no other ideas
So long as you tested it it should be in your bnet folder.
Locate your bnet cache folder
Windows XP:
[drive letter]:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\
Windows Vista/7:
[drive letter]:\Users\All Users\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net \
[drive letter]:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\
Once you have, you'll want to sort by last modified / file size (it'll not be fun trust me) but if you roughly know the file size that you last test this will be easier.
You hopefully should then be able to find it resave / use a MPQ to copy the terrian data and your work should be ok.
I know this sounds ridiculous, but I had auto-backup disabled and never test-ran the map. I cannot open the map file in the MPQ editor. I have slowly come to realize that I better hurry starting over if I want to finish anything before the deadline, so I started working on a new document, with the only reference being an overview image of the broken map.
Although it didn't work out, I appreciate your replies.
Be sure to check out the extension mod: Hots Custom Map support on NA and EU, Despite the name it greatly expands the roster of options for the default 3 races and is updated all the way to NCO.

Last time I had this error was when my map got broken. I tried to open it with MPQ editor, but it failed to recognize anything in the file.
Only the copy from the auto-backup folder helped to get my map back. So, check backup folder.

@nolanstar: Go
There is not. All I have got is the broken map file.
