I think not, they probably prioritize the melee gameplay because of the huge changes they made, maybe they make the editor available later in the beta. Or maybe they will surprise us the next days.
The editor should be available as soon as the beta starts.
Invitations are still being sent. Founder's Pack was merely a business trick to get some extra money, as Blizzard just recently announced that players soon will be able to invite friends, just like Dota2 beta.
I have no idea why people wanting and were even expecting an editor for this. It's not like there's map editors of LoL, HoN or Smite. It's not like they were ever needed.
Dota2 does have an editor though.
edit: Didn't realise I did a partial necro. Might as well add something more to the discussion then.
With Blizzard already implementing new maps in Alpha/Beta, I believe they are aiming at a very map-driven meta game (perhaps not to the same degree as Starcraft II). It would make a lot of sense to have the community create new maps, since the tools are already more or less ready to be used (as they are based on Galaxy Editor), and it would also save Blizzard time and money if the community would happen to produce maps on a similar level. Blizzard's only job would basically be to do 2D artwork for the maps, as well as some 3D polish if needed be. Even if they would not decide to follow this path, they could still go for the Dota2 approach of having a custom game section (much like Arcade) where players can play different modes and maps uncompetitively.
I know this sounds ridiculous, but I had auto-backup disabled and never test-ran the map. I cannot open the map file in the MPQ editor. I have slowly come to realize that I better hurry starting over if I want to finish anything before the deadline, so I started working on a new document, with the only reference being an overview image of the broken map.
Although it didn't work out, I appreciate your replies.
As I was working on a map for TotalBiscuit's upcoming Clan Wars, my OS crashed as I saved the document. When I turned it back on, the map I was trying to save could not open, and I was given the error message "Dependency data could not be loaded". Any other map that I've tried to open produces no errors, and the broken map does not use any other dependencies than the Multiplayer Mod dependency. I would copy/paste the terrain map component into a new file if I was able to, but that would require me to open the map in the editor.
Seeing as the deadline for TotalBiscuit's Clan Wars is coming close, I would very much appreciate any help - I will not be able to make it in time if I am to start all over.
I attached the map file if anyone wants to have a look at it.
The most recent Team Liquid Map Contest (one week ago, in association with Blizzard) awarded LotV beta keys to the finalists. Since they're starting to give out keys, I'm confident the beta is right around the corner.
The idea isn't bad, but with HotS being increasingly popular, there is little chance of getting a proper player base, which is required for mobas due to the large lobby sizes.
Depends what kind of symmetry you are aiming for. The most frequently used symmetry is rotational (diagonal). The rotational (circular) symmetry may prove useful when creating maps for an uneven player count.
And btw can i increase size of circle around sieged tank?
If what you're refering to is the radius of the Siege Tank's attack, you'll have to change the Range parameter of the Weapon that is linked to the Siege Tank Unit.

The terrain looks really great. Like really. I'm not sure if I like the WoW character models though - I'd probably use D3 and/or W3 models for that.

Really cool. Nice animations.

There is not. All I have got is the broken map file.

That looks super badass.

In which ways does the workflow of Unity differ from Galaxy Editor?

You should probably mention what it's all about - map makers usually won't join projects that they do not have a personal interest in :)

I would advise you to have a look around the editor yourself as well, it will often times fix your issue faster than waiting for a response.
