i did it, my map is played 700 times per hour. And seriosly, it´s my first map and not very beginner friendly or extremly clever ;)
But it´s kind of TD map, so i placed it in the TD section, thats why people saw it in the list (of only 8 maps at the moment) and thought ... hm it´s new and i´m bored lets try that thing. It´s really nice. after working on a map, people actually play it... at the least right now, i don´t think my map can be played forever...
i really want to thank Sc2 mapster, because like i said it is my first map and i learned everything from the tutorials here and asked a lot questions in the forum, because i had no idea how this complicated editor works. Thank you sc2 mapster :)
I know the feeling, my map was #1 for a few days during beta - couple of thousand plays/hour.. It was crap though, but good concept for it's time, and only very little replay-value. For my current project, I am aiming to get a map that will stay rather high on the list, and then stay there! I will put as much content that will make players want to play it again and again, that is the real challenge.. Everyone can make a map that makes it to the first page for a few days (and because of the popular-map-system, some of those crappy maps stays there, for no reason).

Should be the day when there are 20 million player play starcraft 2 custom, and you're lucky to meet one of them on the street. Also the requirement that your face has to be visible somewhere in the map :P

Gratz man :) i know Gates of Darkness almost hit page 1 sometime after release, bugged as hell, lol. People emailed, PMed on mapster and even went to the youtube channel i cast for xD

would you prefer chocolate or cherry? uh i live in austria right now, they make pretty good "sacher-torte" in vienna ... ahm analog ones... ;)
well i think people can play my map 3-4 times, but after that it´s the same standing in the middle of the map and trying to kill a lot of zergs... like most of the funmaps ^^

Make a picture of you as loading screen and create a model of you for the builder, then it won't take long.
