I agree. Last 15 posts would be very useful as most of the activity happens when I'm asleep and by the time I check in the morning, there'll be some new threads and posts up that the front page isn't showing.
The 'active forum threads' block isn't something the mods can change, so you're looking at Curse for something like that.
In general, the only things we (= the mods) can change is the content of announcement on the front page, as well as the poll. That, and we can add new announcements. Which means that you're not likely to see much more improvements from our ends than you've already seen - the best I could do is clean up some of the outdated stickies in each board.
I don't know how frequently we should be changing the poll - maybe every month or two? @Moz, unless there's some feature that would allow you to keep previous polls and the comments they had, I can try to keep a stickied thread with previous poll results manually before it gets changed next. I think OutsiderXE suggested this first, putting forth the idea that we archive the old polls/comments, then wipe the comments fresh for the new polls. Not sure how possible this is though.

There is a 'create new poll' option, but I don't have the permission to use that - as is of course, tradition. Which means that either I constantly edit/update this poll, or I delete it and we have nothing left.
So yes; if we want to save the older poll results, we'll need a thread or such to maintain those things.
Edit: It's actually pretty shit I am simply restricted from adding a new poll; I can actually see all the older polls, all the way back to 2008 when apparently all polls were WoW-themed?

What I would like to see is some sort of qualified comment or collection of interesting quotes made in the poll thread when a poll is closed. Something that feels like a conclusion/bottomline based on the poll.
Next poll: Other/previous game engine/map editor experience: WC2, SC1, WC3, Unreal, Unity, CryEngine, others (mention in thread). If multiple choice isn't possible ask "What game engine/map editor besides SC2 do you have the most experience with?"
"Which tool do you use most frequently for SC2 maps besides the SC2 editor?" Photoshop, Maya, Word, insert other programs here
Did you buy the nova pack? Yes. No, waiting for price drop. No, other reason. No, not interested in singleplayer"
What other heroes/stories would you like to see after Nova? Alarak, Stukov, Tassadar (prequel)
How do you rate Nova so far? very good, very bad, inbetweeners
I'd be interested in writing up a summary of each poll assuming nobody has a particular problem with me doing so. Some topics may be beyond my expertise if they ever became technical in scope re: the editor, but I could definitely do it for the most part. It sounds like we can't wipe the comments anyway, so there doesn't need to be any particular timing to it.
