How can i add models/actors to units?
like, if a marine picks up a grenade, i want a grenade to appear on his belt.
I would also like to have some kind of preview in a dialog (where you can set up your unit) that can show these effects too.
There is a Function within the trigger editor that allows you to add models to unit's certain attachment points, type in "attach" in the search window and you should find some of them. The act of attaching models and other units to another model / unit can be done with site operations within the data editor. I know that there are a few tutorials here on sc2mapster on how to attach units to other units, however some of them may be quite old, but they should still be viable.
@SearingChicken: Go Like if you needed to give any more proof of who you are.
Anyway, one prerequisite for your idea to work is to know if there are any viable bones in the Marine's waist, Because even by using offsets, the attachment would be out of position if you use bones from other body parts.
@SearingChicken: Go Yes, but does center move with the waist in this case? If it moves with the torso for example attaching the greandes to it will look awful, even with offsets, during animations.
Like if I didn't know models have a center attachment by now.....
Hey!

Any way of doing this?
Thanks for any help =)
Not sure if this is done by triggers or within the data editor.
Both actually!

Hope that helps you! :)
A.K.A. use the actors tab in the data editor.
Still alive and kicking, just busy.

Good luck!
@SoulFilcher: Go
There is an attachment point for it, actually its there for nearly every unit, called "Center" Then you just offset it with a Local Offset.
@SearingChicken: Go
in this case, attaching to any parts that dont move in relation to center should work, right?
Is there a possibility to see all bones available?
The cutscene editor has the possibility to show attachment points. Not sure about bones though.
