I'm having a doodad/unit issue when changing my map's the tileset.
I wanted to change some of the cliffs and add a road to the Mar Sara tileset. This was done easily enough. However, when I load the new tileset the unit and doodads change.
Originally the tileset looks like this:
But once I've loaded up the new custom tileset - or even one that is a strait duplicate of the original Mar Sara tileset - the units and doodads change.
Any help on getting these back to the original coloring while using a custom tileset?
I think this requires data editing since you'll manually need to change the model of the destructable debris to Mar Sara, even when it's on a different tileset. Looking at the data editor tells me this should be possible, I just haven't a clue how.
Alternatively, you can use Rock (Giant) doodads with Thorns. It could be more work and they'll be indestructable, but it gets the same effect.
Thanks for the data editing thought - that's what I figured I would be doing but was hoping for an easier solution.
As far as using the Rock (Giant) doodad, it changes that one too :( You can see in the second picture that the Rock (Tower) doodads are changed (under No Fly Zone 003), the same effect is applied to the Rock (Giant) ones (there is actually one at the top of the second picture, just above the staircase and northeast of the cave.
I had this problem too. Every rock-like doodad (and some other as well) have custom textures for specific tilesets. Tarsonis has very bright rocks, Port Zion has rocks covered with green slime, etc, etc. They change their texture based on the ID of the tileset. It's something like this:
rock_giant_marsara
rock_giant_tarsonis
So if you make a new tileset named "my funky tileset", the rock won't find a "rock_giant_myfunkytileset" texture, and will reset to basic one (like in the pictures).
The answer to this is: don't create new tilesets (and don't duplicate old ones either). Just modify the one that seems the closest to what you want.
The other way is to edit every single rock doodad (or at least the ones you want to change) and somehow add your custom tileset to its "list". I have no idea how to do that :]

This feels like cheating... but it feels so right. Thank you so much!
