I'm making a fastest map for my clan...and I need to know how do I set up a start point in such a way that the nexus/command center/hatchery is RIGHT on top of the mineral field.
I have been editing and racking my brain and I can't get it to work.
Open the Data Editor..
Open the Races tab (or select it from the dropdown).
Select a race and change 'Food Ceiling' to whatever you want. Note that changing cRace's value will not function as a default value - you have to change them individually.
When I hold shift all it does is allow me to place the unit on top of the minerals on the map, but when the map starts the nexus/hatchery/command center don't spawn RIGHT on top of the minerals. So I don't think that's the answer. I want it so that the start area is exactly next to the minerals..so much that the probes/scv's/drones don't have to move at all to gather minerals. I know it's possible to do this, Fastest map by wolf has it.
You could make the CC in the middle, and Recourses surrounding it.
For shift, im not sure, cant acces the Editor atm, so cant tell what your doing wrong.
Yeah I always place the minerals and gas first...then place the CC. But for some reason it's almost as if there is a separation bubble around the resources and the cc so it can't be placed right next to each other. It's driving me nuts...this is the last thing I have to fix to make my map complete.

Also, another question...how do I raise the popcap on my map? I can't find it in the editor.

To change supply cap do the following:

Okay I think I'm onto something but I need a second opinion...
Under Modules>Data>Footprints
Is there a way to decrease the size of the footprint that a mineral field makes?
edit the CC property and put a check in the "ignore placement blah blah blah"
