We cannot have more than 4 dependencies when publishing a map. This is basically killing all the use of it. There are already 4 if we want to use the Campaign stuff. But let say we use only 2, we have only 2 rooms left!
The main use of the dependencies was for libraries. You want to use a bank compression library, and some lib that helps you making cool achievements and another lib for something else. You just can't!
I know the mods haven't been used like this, but it is because Battle.net publishing was not stable enough to be trustable. But now that the game is released I want to promote the use of mods, however it is just not possible :(
Also, I am having a bug, someone just sent me a copy of his US map, and when I try to publish it (i'm FR) it says there are 5 dependencies instead of 4. However when I open the dependency panel I see only 4. I suspect the french campaign is different from the english one and it counts as 2 separates.
When trying to remove one, it takes ages to check the dependencies. More than 500seconds!
This deserves a bump because the title doesn't stress its importance.
If you want to publish your map overseas you cannot use all four dependency slots! You have to choose between Liberty Campaign and Liberty Story Campaign!
Personally I'd pick Liberty Story Campaign because the winged zerg/protoss hybrid models actually work in that one, but ymmv. Try them both and see in which one your critical units/objects exist. Either way, do not use both or you cannot publish your map in other regions.
Just wanted to point out that mods can have dependencies of their own. You don't need to include all 4 campaign mods to have access to all the campaign stuff, because LibertyStory.SC2Campaign already has dependency set to Liberty.SC2Mod and Liberty.SC2Campaign (to prove it: include only Story into your map and then go check out the data editors "data source" listbox). And the dependency limit can be cheated if you create a small mod and set your dependencies in it (mods don't seem to have a dependency limit).

Not only that, it freezes after it finishes checking as soon as you hit "Ok". Which means the campaign dependencies can't be removed once added.
This deserves a bump because the title doesn't stress its importance.

I'm suddenly getting the error: too much dependencies... it says I'm using 5 but there are only 4 in the list

I was just wondering if this was possible. :D Thank you mapster, the search feature, and our community! XD
