Whenever I try to publish my map I get the "Lost connection to gateway" error. I thought that the new patch fixed having to change the host to the beta version.
UPDATE: Patch 14 was released. The Map Publishing host preference has been fixed by default, so we no longer need to fix that manually. Undocumented Editor changes can be found here. You can also see the complete patch notes here.
I've tried with the beta host and the default host, but neither work. Anyone got any ideas?
I've been having this error since patch 14, and patch 15 didn't fix it. I have 2 melee maps that I was able to update but now I can't update them because of this error. I tried changing a lot of settings but nothing worked. If I change the number of players, the map starts uploading to 80% but then it fails with that error. If I try to upload twice in a row without changing anything it stops at 0%
My 2 maps are melee so there's no scripting or wierd things. I even tried to copy paste the terrain, doodads, minerals... I remade the no pathing layer but still I have the same error and I can't update my map. Before the maps were uploading, and the only thing I did was moving vespene geiser and change a bit the nopathing and now it won't upload.
When I google "Lost connection to gateway" stacraft in google there's a thread on sc2mapster but it seems to have been deleted and it's not in the cache anymore so I can't read what's in.
If anyone knows how to fix this error eventually I would be able to upload my maps. In patch 13 my maps were uploaded even if I wasn't able to update them but now they're not on battle.net anymore and I can't upload them to the server.
edit : I tried to publish the version of the maps that were able to publish and I'm not able to publish them anymore. I'm getting Failed when it's Transmitting File archive with the reason lost connection to gateway. Sometimes it fails at Constructing header file too.
I even tried to create a blank map, just change its name and publish it and there's the same error. I have a very good connection and my firewall doesn't block anything so I wonder how people manage to publish their map now.
I finally managed to upload my maps from a different computer on the same internet connection. It was a fresh install and in the battle.net settings of the map editor the new default address was enGB.logon.battle.net instead of the eu-beta.logon.battle.net on my old install. But I put that address in my old install and it's still not working on this computer.
So I don't really know what to say to help you except the problem is from the editor and not from the map. The only differences between the 2 installs is the old one is on xp and installed on h:\ instead of c:\, while the new install was on windows 7 on c:\
I hope Blizzard fixes the problem so I can publish my map from the same computer I make maps.
The large Minimap preview image which appears in the lobby and on the map selection screen is what was causing it. By going to Map -> Map Info and selecting Hidden on the Preview Image - Small and Preview Image - Large cells allows the map to be uploaded normally and without error.

Should be good now, the server was down.

Yeah, it's still getting the "lost connection to gateway" error for me.

I tried making both the large and small Preview images hidden, but no luck. Still wont upload it, but it did get to 36% instead of the normal 24%.
i have same problem but me at 95%
I want to hello everyone, as im writing my first post on mapster forums.
I had GATEWAY_DOWN error when tried to publish my map. In my case, hiding the map preview pictures was way to solve it.
