I use the model Void_Hero_Circle.m3 as graphic for a buff. That model is simply a circle with team color. (See the picture attached below)
When I add that buff to a ground unit, the circle perfectly appears on the ground. But when I add the buff to an air unit, the circle does not appear. : /
Any ideas how to make the circle appear below an air unit?
I am using a Model Addition actor linked to a Generic CModel model, which uses Void_Hero_Circle.m3. I have also tested other actors and model types, but Void_Hero_Circle.m3 never appears on any air units.
I have found other models that do not appear on air units either, for example StukovHeroGlow.m3 and SwarmHeroGlow.m3.
They do however work fine on ground units.
I will experiment with the Selection actor, as you suggested.
But still - any idea why some models appear on ground units, but not on air units?
Yes, the model does indeed appear when I use SOpShadow.. The problem is that the model only appears on the ground, far below the air unit. I want to make it appear just below the air unit, where the selection circle is... As if it were a SOpAttachOrigin..
I have played around with a bunch of SOp attachment actors, but the model refuses to appear right below the feet of any air unit.. > . < .. oh well I will play around to see if I find a solution
That is not possible because the model you are using is a splat and those automatically project onto the terrain. You would need a different model for that. Try texture swapping the circle of power model?

I would use a Selection actor. Check the events that it does not need the same status as ground units like the flying selection circle.
You using a Model type actor?

You tried giving then a SOp (Shadow) SOp?
