I made a whole bunch of custom buildings by duplicating most parts of the original one. Now all of them had the same Problem: the building animation didn't worked. Well after some editing in the actor-events I made the animation working for the Spine Crawler.
So far so good, but the problem is the building actor (to be exact it is the Model(build) one) already shows up, while the building animation is still running.
I compared my Spine Crawler to the original one and it seems to be pretty much the same. I've gone through the 5 Actors and made them like in the original one, but it seems I am still missing something, because it is still not working right.
If the buildings are using models that are not supposed to be building, it's normal. The building actors will try to search Birth animations and will find none, you'll have to do it yourself.
I've tried sometime ago to lower the building height in actor to make it pop up while the terran construction animation is acting, but I failed to put a model underground using negative height.
What I've done is I used "Model swap" event function to make it disappear at actorcreation. It works for autoturret, it wont work for bigger buildings, yo'll have to figure out a way !
No much time for mapping last days.
What i figured out for the most buildings (I'm using almost only the normal zerg buildings, with a few exceptions) i replaced the normal unit actor in the Model (Build) field with the Unit build actor, which is just a tiny version of the one that is used while the building animation. That way you see only the building animation, fine so far.
But when i replace the Model (Build) actor of the spine crawler with something else, a placeholder ball will pop up and replaces the building animation and stay there for ever, even after the building finished and the normal Model pops up. But i can't find something changed in the events, if i change the Model(Build) actor.

@Brugia: Go
does the building have the "building in progress" ability? (if I remember correct it was building in progress, it ends with in progress anyway.)
@Helral: Go
Yes it has "Build in Progress" ability
