I have custom voice files that I'd like to use a protoss unit and I'm wondering how i need to alter them to make them sound more "protossy" (changing pitch, adding weird background vibration noises). I have a lot of software that can alter sounds like Audacity, just wondering if anyone has experience in this
There was an insanely easy tutorial on Audacity protoss speech on youtube. I've made some kool protoss sounds back at the day, which sounded even better then the blizzard ones. Then I stopped working on sounds and went inactive, you know, real life... Now I have the same problem as you do, since that tutorial is no longer on youtube, and I cant seem to find it anywhere on the net. It had all the details, when to change pitch, how much to change, what effects to add at what stage...
Now I dont remember the sequence of those changes and I fucking suck at sound editing... Would like to find a solution though.

One of the features is: invert backwards, add reverberation, invert again, so reverberation will be fading in before the the sound happen.
