maybe have the faces seem like they are combining together instead of a solid split down the center. Kind of like the evil is taking over and the good is fighting back.

I'm not sure if you should even bother. Blizzard has issues with anything related to religion, etc and from what I've heard bans the maps that they don't think are appropriate, afaik this falls under that category of inappropriate.
Yup. Jesus is on thier list of banned words O.o But yeah, that one map (was it the original sotis?) had a pic of Jesus arm wrestling with Satan, and the map was not religions in any way. But it still got taken down.

I'm pretty sure the concepts of "hell" and "heaven" are sufficiently abstract that it wouldn't give you the same problems as "satan" and "jesus".
As for the pic itself, that's cool, but I don't think the two sides are distinct enough - any chance of making the "hell" side more orange so it contrasts better?
