You mean other than opening the M3 sequence plug in in 3ds max and renaming them? Probably not. Most likely not.
You could try opening the m3 with a text editor and figure out if the names for the animations are stored as strings (which you will be able to find in the glorious ammount of gibberish ascii characters you'll find) and see if you can modify them (which I'm pretty sure you can. And even so you'd have to know the animation names (to rename them) and will most likely end up screwing up the file.
if you managed to impor the model then I figure you found the "MAXScript" button to open the scripts ;o
1. Import model
2. When you have model imported open the "M3 sequences" plug in, just like the other one, the importer, via maxscript button, should be one of the options.
3. M3 sequences plug in will open, you should now be able to see it below, and there should be several boxes one a select box that will list all of the animations and one of them will be a typebox where you can type in your animtion
4. rename the animations you want. Just type anything and press "enter"
5. when you're done with your renamings press "save" (or I can't remember if there isn't a save button, chances are there is no save button, just close) If that's the case then just close.
I was hoping to add animation renaming to my very simple and small M3 model editor that nobody knows about, since the Dominion Kill Team Marauder has an animation labeled as (None) which is a two-handed attack that would have been perfect for a map I recently made. :P
Indeed, please do tell. A friend and I have plans to create some new models for a mod/map idea I have, and we are hitting a $3500 wall. Oh yea, 3dsmax :P
Well, I wasn't planning on the ability to add or remove vertices because I'd have to change just about all the offsets in the file, but it looks like I'll have to do that anyway (which is less hard than I thought, it looks like) in order to rename animations. In the current iteration, you can just move vertices.
I didn't want to start too big a project since I'm good at not finishing big ones. :P
If I stay off my IM clients, I may be able to have animation renaming implemented in a few hours, but there will probably be no animation viewing, so you'd have to use it in tandem with the Galaxy Editor model previewer or something.
Edit: VoilĂ !
Back up the models for which you want to change the animations and give it a shot if you want.
Btw. How i should name in proper way Attack ready animation to somehow make it work?
I use 3x Attack A and 3x Attack B for 2 set's of 3 attacks; i also have Attack A Ready, Attack B Ready but i won't work/i don't know how to make it work. (you know, to get this smooth animation, now is like stand/attack/stand/attack looks crappy)
Is there any? thx :)

I tried in it but its like maze of buttons for me. Got model loaded via import and that's all.
Doing this from memory.

6. Open the M3 export plug in, export your model.
Pretty much sums it up.
