I am looking for someone to make some planet models and a star model for my map.
I cant give more credit, than meantioning you in my map. But I think these models would really help others too to make space based maps.
I currently know nothing about modeling, but if nobody will do it than, I will try to make my own.
(currently I am at really early stage of map = I made only a map generator for stars and planets.)
im betting thre will be star / planet models layed out the the campaign. if you look through all the stuff thats listed but not included (ie blue sphere missing models etc) there is plenty of stuff to lead one to assume there will be planet models. there is a 'starmap' which we dont have access to yet. im assuming from the way it looks laid out from what little we can tell, is that its a selection process of missions kind of like from C&C (there is mercenary UI stuff to lead you to assume this type of single player campaign process as well). what use would a starmap be without stars/ planets? if there is not included star / planet models then it would have to be a static flat image. but i doubt bliz would go that route as the stuff they do is pretty top notch all around.
on a side note; until then, or until someone makes you a planet, to make a star there are plent of projectiles that when sized / layered could make a star until you get a more specefic one. layering the projectiles such as the pylon canon projectile, tinting the color and putting other projectiles in could give you the desired effect. being creative is pretty pivotal to making maps as you dont always have the resources to just 'have someone make you something'. also i doubt you would even have to get too in depth in modeling, just making a sphere, finding an appropriate texture from INGAME to save space and time, then just applying that texture to the sphere (i know without uv wrapping it wouldnt 'line up') you could get something that looked like a planet pretty easily. most 3ds tutorials teach you how to make a sphere in the first 5 seconds, and applying a texture is a 2 second process that takes a couple of minutes to learn.
but i do agree, they would seem to be 'standard' desired models for a 'starcraft' mapping community.
I dont think I have to be more specific here.
A 3d m3 model with no movement. (however if you add planet circulation that would be cool)
No death or bearth needed.
any skin good for me which looks like a planet. (nasa has sphere terrians about our solar system planets, those would be good for me.)

I'm pretty sure you'll have a space map model once the game is released..
omg 23 days!!!!!!!!!!hunsgyiutfyiusghihiwsytweytwyutkojyit
? I doubt there will any planet models or star model. But if you think about space map background, that's already in the editor...

I already done that with one projectile.
I am not sure with the planets. they can be easly 2d.
but anyway I wont finish with my map until the game realesed.D
I can do that for you. Just be more specific.
You mean like this:
Yep, you just have to be more specific on what you want. It's not hard.

There are starmap planet models in the files now, but they are extremely small and have huge sphereical backdrops like portrait models do.
You could take a stab at those maybe.
