Awwww! If you're reading this, then you missed my amazing stream of awesome! Don't worry, though, a recording should be made available in the near future for you guys to watch. I'll also attach the final version of the map to the bottom of this post for reference. See you guys next week!
Thats right! It's pretty exciting, I know. And what makes it even better is that I'll be hosting it. Yup, it's gonna be crazy . So don't miss it. Or else... ;)
Anyways...As the name implies, this stream will be focused around Newbies. Being a newbie is hard; the galaxy editor is confusing, and even with an amazing website like this you still might have to wait a bit to get answers. Lucky for you newbies, you've got Newbie Wednesday. This time around I'll be showing how to create your own custom race. You'll learn how to
Create new units and buildings
Modify basic stat values & Weapons
Create a worker that can build your new buildings
Set up the actors associated with build animations
Create & Use simple requirements
And once I finish up, there will be a Q&A for 15-20 minutes.
When to tune in: About 8:30 GMT-08:00 (Pacific Time). In non-nerd language, that about 4 1/2 hours from this post.
Where to go: You can head over here to watch any live streams we're doing, or to watch the recordings of past streams
The whole thing with build animations was that when you duplicate protoss units (not sure if its like this for the other races) the blue warpy portal thing doesn't show up like normal. So you have to go and set it up for each new unit.
Thats why I said "that about 4 1/2 hours from this post.";)
Although it was NewbieWednesday, not Tuesday, so that might be why you missed it. We finally got everything squared away when it comes to who's casting what, so we'll be able to keep you guys more informed. Also, I posted a reminder on the news & added the stream to the current events box. Thats always a good place to check, although the time it says doest always show up correctly.
And I found out that uploading a file makes me technically an author, which removed all the adds on the site for me! Cool :D
