Starcraft: Ascendency
WARNING: THIS CAMPAIGN CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SC2 LOTV!!!
This campaign takes place during the two-year time span between the end of the "Amon's Fall" mission and the "Homecoming" cinematic, covering what happened to Kerrigan during this period (and why it took 2 years for her to return).
This campaign will likely be between 10 and 15 missions, and missions will be released every few months.
Thank you to Bilxor, EDHRIANO, CybrosX, and Hultmanable for testing Mission 1!
Instructions:
1. Download the Ascendency mod (needed for missions 3 and onward)
2. Place the mod in your SC mods folder (should be in program files)
3. Download the mission you want to play
4. Launch it in the editor
Special thanks to CybrosX for making some custom models for Missions 2 and 3! Check out his model showcase here!
is there any chance for more missions to be released?
i watched the mission on youtube, theyre cool. problem is i dont own hots and lotv and thats why i cant load mod file into map to properly play the missions. why the campaign modders dont release only maps so that anybody with freeversion game can play?
Need more missions!!!
please add feature to skip cutscene, when you lose a couple time,it becomes annoying to watch all the cutscene again
Noticed that the mod filename and the one the map looks for are different (one has an underscore, the other doesn't).
Mission 03 Review
Edited (2) recently because this needed expanding on.
I finished the 3rd mission.
Liked the idea and the way it played out. The design of the void was really cool, I liked watching the links between creator and creation as my turrets rose from the void. The number of Xel'Naga units were all unique and had different roles.
Units felt underwhelming with non-existant healing, and insignificant amounts of DPS/HP/Range for their cost compared to turrets. I thought I could hold with just units, but the Xel'Naga constructs were too high HP and too powerful to do so (not a complaint, just a comment). My successful playthrough had me go without building a single unit.
What was really clever design-wise was the lack of ridges to build on on the south-west path, so you would get overwhelmed at the end by Xel'naga forces .
I know that I really shouldn't suggest ideas to you, buuuut what if units were free but rifts/supply were expensive (and you start with 1 rift).
Edit 1: a few things I noticed
The boss battle seems to cancel upgrades in progress, can you take a look at that? I was researching weapons 3 and I found I had to start the research again after killing it.
Also, the mod doesn't have the same name as the mod the map needs uses _ instead of " "
Yep! Had a 4 hour session of grinding bug fixes on the map last night before I published it.
I assume you've already fix the bugs I mention during beta test?
yay new mission!
Odd that harrypeter posted something here too, but this time it is about tiles rather than entrance rugs. Lol
Mission 3 is up! :D
Thanks adhityairvan! Quick little update guys, Mission 3 is for all intents and purposes finished. Just tweaking balance to make sure it's not too easy nor hard. Should be up in a few days.
a slight missing tooltips when you enter the corrupting void in mission 1,the effect said unkown.other than that, the first mission is good and interesting.makes you want to play more :)
Mission 2 is nearly done. It will probably be up between the 10th and 15th, depending on how much free time I have. :D
To use the mod, just put it in your mods folder under C:\ProgramFiles\StarcraftII\Mods\ (Exact location may vary). Then go into the editor, to file, to dependencies, and click modify on Ascendency Mod. Then select local files, and select Ascendency Mod.
Sorry it took me a while to post the mod, had a pretty busy month and put SC on the backburner for a little while. Mission 3 is underway and will hopefully be out by early to mid November (late October if i'm lucky).

Hi ReivanH12,
And welcome to sc2mapster community.
I hope you enjoy your stay here with us.
Or, you could just upload the mods here .

It probably has something to do with the map needing the dependency 'Battle.net Ascendency Mod 0.42' that you need to do login to Battle.net to get. I would just make whatever mod is needed local. It should fix the problem.
