My suggestion is to add a game over screen when all players get 0 lives.

That's a new rule. When I first read, it hadn't this.

Well, it's just impossible to test a multiplayer map without at least publishing it on private. Every elaborated map is bugged when you test for the first time. There's just no way to submit a working multiplayer map without publishing it first.

And you don't think Blizzard reads Mapster? You don't think they've seen the maps to spotlight on our news? :P.

I think they read, but not all of them. I don't think they will keep track of all maps once published before. Between popular maps and bugged maps, I bet they will choose the popular ones. I won't be surprise if Nexus Wars win the contest. But, anyway, it's worth to try.

I message you a week later to ask to play and you give me a cold response even though you'd been friendly in the beginning when you were asking to help spread it. There wasn't a need to be friendly anymore since it was popular I take it.

I don't let people down just because a map gets popular. I'm really glad you helped me, and I will always be. If I gave you a cold response, which I don't remember, it wasn't intentional. I'm really sorry. Everyone that helped my map once still my friend. I would never treat someone badly just because of a map getting popular. If I sounded cold, I'm sorry, I didn't want to.

Yeah... It was on Battle.net... Blizzard knows it was on Battle.net from their logs... People posted about it on these forums... People posted about it on the Battle.net forums... We've put it in the news several times... Yeah.. =|.

Maybe you are right, but Blizz is doing so much mistakes these days that I can actually believe they have other people to choose the maps. Debates is popular os sc2mapster, but no one knows about it on Battle.net. If you can publish a map (even private), the best maps in the tournament will be that maps you would hate to play for more than 30 seconds. So, I bet Blizzard would rather choose a polished published not-very-much-popular map than a map with 9999 bugs.

If I just wanted my map to be popular, I would just boost Platform Defense and make it on the first page again. However, Debates brought me a feeling that no map with booms and bangs could give to me.

I've never heard of someone who was able to publish a map for the first time with no bugs. The only way to test a multiplayer map is publishing it. To submit a map without being published is like writing a story with the eyes closed. I won't be surprised if Nexus Wars wins the contest.

You are seriously the worst poster here. Literally everything I've ever heard you say has been a temper tantrum about your map not being popular or played. And now out of spite you've deleted the map entirely. Congratulations I guess, now please go away. You've never posted anything remotely constructive. This is a forum for mapmaking, not self-pity.

I deleted the map not for tantrum, but to have an oportunity to join the contest. And still, I had to warn the Debates players because they were asking me all the time "where is Debates?" You have the right to think that my thread isn't good, but ask yourself, is your post constructive?

    Hi,

I was traveling to record a new Debates video in a rollercoaster, but when I arrived I realized that Debates is not on the list. I can't find the map in any page. I was surprised because Debates had gotten about 60% of all the suggestions of maps to be featured (which is more than 20 suggestions), so I thought people were playing the map.

Well, since I cannot find the map, I'm cancelling the video project, and I deleted the map from Battle.net. I apologize to all Debates fans. I deleted, so that I can send the map to the Blizzard contest.

Edit: I deleted the map to have a chance to join the map contest, since the map cannot be published and no one was playing it anyway. However, I keep receiving messages of people asking me to re-upload. So, I re-uploaded it, but the map stills out of the list. I might delete again 1 week before the contest deadline to be able to submit it, if this won't annoy the Debates players.

    Thanks for playing my map.

    Quote from Silenkiller: Go

Well just played ur map for a bit. I have a suggestion. I think you should have it vote on lets say a "difficulty" type setting before the match starts, one that has no BS thoughts and is more serious, or one that is more laid back and goofy. At the moment 90% of our "thoughts" were totally rubbish. When is a chair not a chair? Nova better than kerrigan? D3 better than sc2? Aliens live among us? I didn't write them down but those were actually like the best out of the worst ones we skipped. Out of 4 games we skipped 90% of the thoughts. There needs to be more intelligent thought out "thoughts" that are debatable. Just off the top of my head: Abortion, Offshore Drilling, Advanced AI Development, Same sex marriage, hell even have one that says "Your current president is doing a good job". Most of the thoughts you couldn't even take a legitimate position on let alone argue them.

The only one that was really a good debate out of the whole experience was "Hybrid cars are not as beneficial" or something and the thought of the week about history. Except the one about history is so obvious that no one could come up with a good argument against it.

    Otherwise fine map.

Silenkiller, it's hard for me to come up with 360 thoughts and please everyone with all of them. The game has more than 100 legit debate topics that includes all good suggestions you gave, such as Abortion. These "rubbish" topics are what many Starcraft players suggested to me on youtube. Players want debates that require creativity. It's fun to debate a thought that is "outside the box" and very rewarding when you come up with an awesome argument defending something that is clearly not true. Debates is also a philosophical game. These weird thoughts is what makes the game addicting. There is no clear separation between what is serious and what is not. Every joke topic can be discussed as a serious topic. For example, "the earth is flat" is a community with thousands of people who truly believe on that (see www.theflatearthsociety.org). If the players don't like a thought, they can change it many times per round.

Please, suggest all thoughts you consider good on the youtube channel scdebates: http://www.youtube.com/scDebates

I will add your suggestion into the game :)
