Did you ever get in contact with Lowko?

I definitely did notice the pickups for the last boss, but I never saw any healthpacks. Maybe I just wasn't far enough into the boss battle. I'm interested in seeing if anyone can beat it.

I actually ended up killing all of the enemies first and then paying for the rest of the overlord stuff (I bought the first one right away) just to see what happened. The pooping overlords definitely gave me a laugh. I do like giving the player choices - choosing the queens and overlords - makes it more engaging. I probably did end up confusing the two groups of zerglings though. So probably no ghosts in your map.

I just tried playing the 1st mission. I could not beat the last boss (I'm assuming the 2nd boss is the last one). I tried multiple times but could only gets its health down to about 3000. If there were some health pack pickups it would help a lot. You can avoid the missile attacks and run around the zealots a lot but you can't really dodge the attack he does when it pounds the ground.

    Some notes:

    • Clusterbomb has no description (button/tooltip/g4charge)
    • Took 3 tries to beat first boss and had to take heal because I had very little health. I just ended up using the plasma gun and grenades.
    • After the first boss, the pylon objective turned red and the 3rd pylon gave me nothing. Is this supposed to happen?
    • Definitely will take multiple attempts to beat for most players. I liked the infestor baneling traps because it forces you to use strategy to beat instead of just a-moving.
    • I really enjoyed the terrain - you don't use a lot of doodads but the environment feels really real.
    • Add health packs to the final boss battle and/or reduce the health of the boss.

I just played Snowball's Chance on the Arcade. I played on Normal and it did seem a bit easier than the Vespense map. However, I wasted a bunch of money on those overlords which almost made me loose. What happens if you don't accept the extra queens? There is a lot of dialogue to read, which is difficult when you are getting attacked, but you can always look later in the message logs. I did manage to get every bonus objective. Overall it was a fun map and I think better than the first! Don't know if this is a bug or was intentional but the group of zerglings that you could rescue (bottom-left?) of your base would respawn after awhile.

I have done every part of a 'high-end' custom content release - scriptwriting, voice acting, graphic and sound design, music production, mapmaking, modding, characterisation, the list goes on. I have useful experience in these fields

What have you done? What makes you an expert? You obviously think you are better than most people and it obviously makes you feel good talking about other people's work that is "lesser" than yours. You know what this reminds me of - after someone has given a talk at a conference and opens the floor for questions, and then you get that person (usually a male) who wants everyone to know (including his own ego) that he is better than the person giving the talk by talking about how his own work and how bad he thinks of theirs. Yes you offer constructive criticism, but things like saying that you have voice acted for many years does nothing but put the person down and build your own ego. Why does the campaign creator care if you have voice acted for many years? And saying that it sounds like a Microsoft Sam robot - how does that help?

Also, just in general, people that make campaigns often spend a lot of time deciding what to put into their maps and what to focus on. Comments like why didn't they include something are unfair in my opinion. You should focus on how they can make the things they did do better.

I skimmed through your video. I would definitely cut the video length down as it is very hard to listen to you talk for an hour and a half. Maybe a better format would be to have shorter, separate videos focused on specific things. For example, have a video focused on voice acting/dialogue and give examples of good and bad voice acting/dialogue from different campaigns, another focused on gameplay, etc.

@MaskedImposter: Go Just wanted to let you know that I played your map last night on the arcade. After killing the Goliath, I remember that the screen was black for the final dialogue. Is it supposed to be this way? It was definitely a fun and challenging mission to play. It definitely forces the player to move out to get enough vespene and increase supply so you can build more units. I also really enjoyed the bosses and the playful tone of the mission. Looking forward to more!

It happening to me too! My graphics now can handle the game on Ultra settings way better then it did in the past versions. Before I was barley able to play a full game on High graphic setting before my computer over heats and crashes. Performance is certainly so much better now. Unbelievable for my 2009 laptop.

For those getting better performance, are you playing from the arcade or from the editor? Also are you using 32 or 64 bit? I was playing on the arcade and was getting some lag with the game showing 0 fps (64 bit).

posted a message on StarCraft II: Annihilation Campaign

I just finished playing mission 11. Amazing job! I played on hard and took me about 2.5 hours but I am pretty sure I completed every possible objective. I did not find the 2nd lore relic though. I loved being able to take my time and explore all the possible bonus objectives as well as the beautiful terrain! I've played RPG type maps before in SC2 but the fact that this is part of a campaign and continuing story just makes it that much better! Other things I really enjoyed - the music, cinematics, boss fights, story, and just the gameplay overall.

Just 3 things I want to mention:

    1. I think someone else mentioned this but the destructible rocks that aren't destructible possibly could be changed to something that does not say "attack this to destroy it". Very minor though.

    2. EivindL mentioned this too, but having the allied units not take any damage was probably the biggest weakness of this map imo. For example, when the zerg are attacking the Executor's Shield (Protoss city), they were all aggregated on a single stalker. So there was 2-3 ultralisks and a number of zerglings, roaches, and hydralisks, all attacking a single stalker. This happened when I was defending the Executor's shield.

    3. I agree with DeltaCamidus that this was not the hardest mission by far (your others are plenty hard enough on higher difficulties), but I really don't think this mission needs to be that hard. What is important to me is that it was super fun to play, the story fit it with the campaign and was interesting, and was just something different. I think a lot of people are going to really enjoy this.

Yeah definitely never a bad idea to back up your important work. You could use a cloud storage like google drive or dropbox as well.

So what did you end up doing to recover your map?

    It's worth a shot - Lowko's Twitter

I know Sundays are kind of his day off and he plays random games on his live-stream (mostly SC2 though). Maybe he'll start playing then and get hooked!

I also believe that getting the word out there will bring many campaign players and makers here. I just want to say a little bit about my story and thoughts. So I have never made any SC2 maps, but I have played many of the custom campaigns. I finished playing the campaigns for WOL and HOTS about a year ago and wanted more content. I then found the Mass Recall website and started playing those. They had a link to Jayborino's youtube channel and I have been hooked since. So by just having links to Jayborino's channel or this website will help a lot by bringing people in. However, I was already aware of custom campaigns from when I was younger playing SC1. I feel that the younger generation who did not play SC1 growing up, probably don't even know that this type of content exists. They finish the SC2 campaigns and think that is it. If they knew about the custom content I feel like they would be more than happy to download and play them. The problem is just telling them where it is. Word of mouth is the key.

What if we could get someone like Lowko who has almost 90K subs and consistently gets over 10K views on his SC2 videos to showcase even 1 of the custom campaign missions? He has showcased the Whispers of Oblivion missions and mentioned that he really enjoys the SC2 campaign. He could link to Jayborinos youtube channel and Bam, we would have many more people checking things out here. Sounds so easy right? But it might be worth a shot. Lowko seems like a really down to earth guy. He could even play it on his livestream on Twitch.

Also, to all the custom content makers out there, keep up the great work! I really appreciate all the hard work it takes and I know a lot of people really enjoy playing what you create.
