Trying to make a tower defense game with some original aspects. I need help understanding how to make my tower have custom splash damage. I know how to set damage type to splash but other than that I don't know a damn thing. I want the tower to have a short range but a large radius. I want it to have weak damage but have it fire quickly. Can someone explain the splash fields to me?
I closed that particular custom map, I started up a new map entirely.. If it is set to custom it messes up. If I set it to Melee it is set back to the original data. I copied the "effects" field for the Zergling. I opened up my custom map and went to the effects section and pasted it. It pasted it as Roach - Claws (damage). LOL. Would anyone be willing to accept my map and undo my fubar or at least attempt to fix it? I think somehow through duplicating units and changing their weapons around I really effed a particular Core file up and I am not sure what one at this point.

@Riley Yeah I am just at a loss as to why I cannot get things back to normal. I have switched dependencies and also "set to parent" on everything related to the zergling. I think I will just keep trying ever so often when I have regained some sanity and feel like losing it some more. I appreciate all of your serious replies. I am just at a loss :|
Zack that helped get the Unit back to the original and it didn't screw up my map in ways that I cannot fix. The problem is, it is still showing the Roach - Claws for the weapon. So I went to the weapon tab and searched for claws. What showed up (that is of any interest) is that the claws in question were able to be set back to Roach - Claws but now I have zergling claws 2 and 3. I will show you the zergling - claws2 and not 3 because the zergling - claws3 has LESS info to give and I think that one is for sure one to be deleted. Here is what I see:
Yeah.. I ended up modifying the base zergling.. Of course that meant that the ID stayed Zergling but the name was different. I also edited the damage, kill experience, loot, etc. The thing is.. I ended up duplicating and fooling around with the "Zergling" so many times it bugged out on me and I think I deleted the original if that is at all possible. When I clicked on the set to parent thing it gave my "zergling" the roach attack. I went to weapons and then gave it the zergling claws attack and it still kept actors for everything.. on top of that the zergling claws (damage) was missing. I was tearing my hair out. I would hate to give up on my map because I have put a LOT of hours into it. I am almost ready to send it to someone to have them "remake" my initial zergling for me..
I have completely lost my zergling entirely from the data editor. There are really screwed up versions of it that won't delete. I have tried setting it to it's parent but it gives me generic crap. Why can't there be an easy anti-fuck up button? This is agitating me to the point of screaming.
I have created some item pickups that add to armor class. I want the higher up armors to make my marine glow a certain color. Please help! This would be awesome! Thx
I haven't gotten that far myself with the victory but I can tell you how to stop the game from ending right away. Go to your triggers and delete all of them. The map editor always sets the game as Melee and with that comes the triggers. If you are making a custom game then you gotta remove those triggers and start from scratch.
If I made custom weapons for a marine hero unit I made and those weapons are duplicates of anything other than terran infantry ground units how do i have veterancy levels +1 ranged damage effect the other custom weapons I made. Weapons like hellion flame thrower, colossus beam weapon, roach acid saliva, etc.

Ohh Okay.. I gotta click on the (damage) part and edit it from splash to ranged. I was having a hard time finding what field to edit. Thanks
