The only way that comes to my mind is using dialog items of type image with a plain color and size 1x1. Actually sounds kind of fun to do that, maybe I'll give it a go and try to create some library for this...
edit.: OK, this way is not feasible performance wise. 100 x 100 dialog item images already lead to massive lag. Perhaps someone else has a better idea...
Lets say I have a global player group GP and a local player group lp which I initialize as equal to GP. I then remove a player from lp. The player will also be removed from GP. This is not the behaviour of a normal variable (Is this what would be considered a pointer in programming terms?). Is this a bug?
If you delete the folders, you won't have any strings left in your map (even your triggers and variables will be nameless) and it will be a hell of a lot of work to rename everything so don't do that ;) Instead create a backup and try to follow Kuekens procedure in his first reply in the link above.
That's some good points lemmy is raising here. What worries me is that your idea seems to rely heavily on custom models. Good modelers are very rare and if you want to go through with your idea, this should be the most important position to fill. Working for a project which will never finish because the models are missing is never a god prospect (marines just do a poor job as archers...).
I like your writing style and leaning towards perfection. Reminds me of myself.
Some questions: Do you plan on creating custom models (for buildings e.g.?). How will combat work? When you compare your idea to civ, does this also mean it will be round based?
I'm good at triggering, so I might be of some help.
Reading my post again, I have to say that I had a pretty thorough idea in mind that I haven't pursued since. Currently I'm messing around with some map ideas none of which includes any hero designing. Just as a clarification that I'm more open to other genres again. Anyways, I'll send you a pm...

This is better than StarCraft.

Are these for take-away?

He looks high, even though not being the one from the netherlands. But I guess you can be high in the states these days...

Yes, but for your multiplayer maps you might want to be sure that everyone has the simple card disabled...

Have you checked Render > Show Lighting > Game Lighting?

Sweet stuff, makes sense. I assumed the worked like points, since I've seen people (ab)using them as containers for integers <15. Thanks anyways.

IIRC I had this issue on multiple maps already. But I will go ahead and try it with a new map just in case...
edit: yup, see example map

Did you change the language of your editor while working on the map? Save your map as a component file and check which localization folders exists (e.g. enUS,...). See also: http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/development/data/25903-param-value/.

The following procedure resolved the problem for me:
In the editor: File -> Preferences: Delete "Copied Document" and set Default Map to .../StarCraft II/Maps/Test/EditorTest.SC2Map
Delete .../StarCraft II/Mods/Test/EditorTest.SC2Mod
Unfortunately, I'm not able to reproduce the error to see what really caused it...

Coincidence! :)
