Hi there,
I'm fairly new to sc2-mapping and wondering about the limitations of the sc2-engine in multiplayer games. From threads and videos I already concluded that WASD-movement as well as horizontal camera orientations are not satisfactorily practicable.
But how about "click to attack" mechanisms, i.e. a left click via mouse triggers a projectile being launched towards the position clicked? Movement via normal right-click order. I haven't seen maps using this on battlenet but then again I haven't looked too closely. I made a test map which was working great with 2 ppl though that friend of mine is living in the same area as me. So does anybody now how this system would perform in a let's say 8 player environment with people from different countries? If not, would anybody volunteer to help me test it out?
Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to allow workers to work on a building of an ally.
"Shared control" allows me to use the allied SCVs to start construction, but if I stop that progress, I cannot use one of my own SCVs to finish it (or vice versa).
Thanks a lot, you were right, it has to do with languages. It came to my mind that I changed the editor language from german to enUS while I was working on the map (my game is german and I cannot find a option to change that). I played around with the language settings and dialogs items the last couple of minutes but wasn't able to find any regularities. I believe the error occurs everytime you change the language of the editor while the map is already open. I guess I'll just start a new map then ;)
I've just started to play around with the Galaxy editor (done a lot of mapping in Wc3 though) and came across this problem already.
The text of dialog items doesn't show properly (see attachments). I tried buttons, checkboxes (the tooltips don't work either) and labels.
I then downloaded a tutorial map for dialogs and started it: all good. I opened it in the editor and tried to renamed one button (from "pick hero" to "bla" or something...). result: none of the texts are working again.

@Zer0kx: Go
Yes, using math :D
log_b(x) = log_a(x) / log_a(b)
In other words, logarithm functions differ only by a constant factor
