Oh, sorry about that.
Appreciate the criticism. ;)
Well, it is a melee-mod for normal melee maps.
Only that you're able to choose which units you wanna use beforehand, as well as choosing one hero-unit that you can deploy on the battlefield.
Yeah, that's pretty much it. :)
I have updated the list and added the following players:
usa-carnage.698#southernrock18
usa-pavehead.569#pavehead
eu-pawl.128#ItsPawl
eu-dragon.1318#PredaN00b
usa-GoldenSniper.390#XDretsamtovip/Anything after 5 PM EST. Ill play anything... and if its a good map, Ill play over and over and over until I have to go...
usa-anethor.598#aneth0r
sea-Gimpexe.580#gimpexe
usa-Chath.752#Commodorebuttrape
usa-abion.47#Abion47
eu-goa.558#hookah604
eu-keth.360#kwketh
Those that were not added, look at the original post at page 1 to make sure you fill in all nessecary information.. Cause if you don't you waste both mine and your time.
i dont get it. how can i ask for testing my map? my map is for 12 players maximum, but i guess 6-8 player are enough. is it possible to get so many map tester? i can test maps , too :)
nick: PsychoMC, EU
Ofcourse! Add every one on the list and hopefully there are enough players to help you. If you think the list is still too small - let me know!
I will make a map called "Hack-Me" where the purpose of the map is to be hacked. The map will load 5 banks, with 5 different crypts. Each crypt hacked gives +1 to the player's score. There will also be "hackings" inside the game, so that the players can join the game to try to hack. In this way, all hackers can spend their time there.
On a more s3rius note though..
I have to agree with Bounty here. There is no 100% undeniable proof that he is responsible for what you are accusing him of. It may "seem" likely or highly probable that he is to blame, but still, no solid proof. Thus innocent until proven guilty.
Even if he is guilty. What could anyone do about it?. Nothing.
I think if you make use of banks, Knowing its vulnerable to exploits, Then you should expect someone to exploit it at some point. Its just bound to happen.
Dont be too upset or surprised about it..
Who says anyone should do anything about it? The general misconception of communities today is that someone thinks if 'he' can't do anything, noone else can. Wrong. Just because you feel helpless because you can't do anything about it - doesn't mean you should generalize it and say noone can do anything about it.
I'd say Rodrigo might have two intentions with this thread:
1. To lower rep. of Bounty
2. To get more people to get Blizzard to update their system.
I agree that the first intention is kind of unnessecary, but laying out theories is never bad, as long as everyone are aware that they are just THEORIES.
Just to let everyone know I will be updating this less regularly now, we have alot of testers and hopefully people find the list useful with the people currently on it.
Also hoping to have some more SEA people sign up on the list!
Then it should be. Without it, you directly incentivize not signing up.
<<quote 162494>>
>> I'm not planning on telling people that someone is no longer available, I'm only adding and removing people from the list.
That further de-incentivizes signing up. A (better) solution is:
Write the names of the characters who should be removed from the list, right below the active list.
That way people who check the list periodically can quickly find out who needs to be removed from their local list, instead of removed people having to individually communicate this to anyone who messages/invites them.
Ofcourse there are better solutions to everything, but all nessecary information is in the first post and you are saying people won't add themselves to the list if they don't want to test others maps - and thats just how it is, this is called Map Testers List because of what it is, if people don't want to test, they don't add themselves.
There are loads of better ways to do an idea like this, like a Facebook Group or anything that notices when things happens within a group, like - someone leaves, someone joins etc. That would be the ultimate way to let people know if someone leaves the List.
Another thought btw... Why not make a special 'section' (like map review, off topic, triggers, etc) for map testers? In addition to having everyone on each others' friend lists, they could make a post that they're looking for testers @ a specific time... :D Or some calendar or event feature... again, just a thought. :P
Give an example what you mean please, I don't understand if you want this specific section in this thread or in a forum section.
I get test requests from people not on the tester list, which is somewhat unfair because they use the list and do not give back.
To thread author - make it clear that people should sign up for the list before asking others on the list to test.
I like the green coloring idea. And I'm not saying blacklist anyone for just one post... but something (that I / we haven't yet come up with) may work. XD
I've stopped testing for anyone who isn't on my friend's list since I come on here and add everyone every week or so. So, it kinda gives pref. to those who have been on the list already and prevents me from helping those who won't even put their name on the list! XD Just my personal boycott of those who don't play well with others. L2Share ppl! lol
Also, I looked through the code markups for the forum and couldn't find anything (but that doesn't mean it isn't possible) to allow you to create collapsible regions w/ in a post. Maybe a mod could help out w/ that, but it would clean up that first page a lot! And, since I don't need the EU or SEA regions, I (and others) could collapse them. :D
Another idea to both keep this thread clean and neat would be to have a mod come through and delete all the posts (dated before) an 'ALL CLEAR' post that would let them know that you've updated everything up to that point. This would also prevent trolls and members from using this thread (and any future 'monitoring' abilities involved) to boost their post count. This may also help to keep the posts to a 'standardized format' which should make your job a bit easier. It /may/ also encourage people to actually friend everyone already on the list as well. lol
Also, sry for the long delay in my response. I've been sick for the last week. :(
Just some thoughts though... I've got lots of 'em rattling around up there! ;)
Collapsing: Sure, its an idea, but something up to mods to fix. In my opinion it's pretty lazymansfeature, not really needed at all.
All Clear: Surely something that will show how often the thread is being updated and also how active the thread is (could have a negative impact if the thread is only 1 page long, people may think the thread isn't being used) but this is also a Mod thing, I don't have ability to delete posts.
Chirus ID#875 here. Feel free to contact me to test a game any day of the week if I'm on. I try to provide very specific comments about the games I am playtesting.
Hey eagle sight... what do you think about a couple other features for this thread? It occurred to me that there are likely going to be people that are hunting for testers w/ out being willing to test other maps themselves. So, some sort of rating system? It sounds trashy and cliche, but I think it could help this aspect of the community become more productive. So, testers would post back here with who had helped them lately and that person gets a point or some such... Hell, you could probably get Curse premium for the top rated in this aspect of the community every so often. (and if that happens, I gladly remove myself from the running since I'm suggesting it)
Similar to this, users who always request help and are never willing to help others get red (black) listed. So, testers are on the lookout for that individual and won't help him / her anymore until they begin helping the community.
I say this because I've tested for a number of people whose names I don't see on the list... We don't have a map up and ready to test yet, but when I do, I'm hoping that some of the people I tested for would be happy to test for me a bit.
Just some thoughts... lemme know what you think (everyone). :D
ALSO... you're doing a kickass job w/ this thread man. ;) Thanks again and keep it up!
I think a rating system is an OK idea, however it would rise the postcount on this thread by a huge deal, also it would be alot more work. I'm thinking I could do something easy like coloring peoples nick with green if they have been vouched (as a tester) by someone - whom wrote in this thread.
About the blacklist, it would be very hard to keep track of that and trolls could just throw in a bad word for anyone.
What do you think about the green coloring? Atleast it would give people a hum about who actually helped with testing sometime.
Updated. Make sure you think abit about your reply such as identifier & comment so we don't get alot of unvalid information in the list, because it would take a lifetime of patience to check if it's all valid. (for me)

You can also make a trigger which occurs every 0.33 real time sec. With this:
- If Then Else Comparison Value 1: Status Of Player Player: 1 Operator: == Value 2: Left The Game
And if he left the game, put a boolean so the If Then Else doesn't happen again, and output whatever you want to do if the player left the game.
You can remove the player being checked by putting it in a trigger and then disabling the trigger when he leaves.

You were added to the list because you write a reply in the other thread called Map Testers, so it was not all out of the blue. I have removed you from the list. Source: http://forums.sc2mapster.com/development/map-development/5946-map-tester-list/?post=24
