Instead of periodics, unit is created, and Ability used (channeling).
when a unit is created that is a missle add it to a unit group
when the ability is used and is at channeling phase. Use a while loop that ends when channeling ends(may need another event to trigger the stop) and every half second or less do the modification you need. This is efficient cause its not running untill it needs to.
a missile is considered a unit. Triggers can do alot with units.
You can:
-rotate
-set Speed
-set size
-set life/shields/energy/level and all related
-you can move and issue move commands
-you can do this over a period of time
-you can do this during the channeling of any spell
-you can change want the trigger does based on what units are presents and how close they are
-you can add/remove behaviors which can adjust acceleration movement, damage and do a lot of different things to the unit.
-You can make a infinite amount of variations with a formula or if you want to take an infinite amount of time to script each one
However:
-i don't think its possible to change the mover on a unit type but im sure with all thin you can work around it.
This Skype idea is non-sense like reinventing the wheel. Theirs an active IRC channel and it offers alot of additional help to the forums. If you wanted to form a chat group you should just make an FreeNode IRC channel then people can move between the channels easily, and your noobs will benifit by the expertise of people in the channel.
I just recently purchases and on my first play though of diablo 3 and I am disappointed with it. I was expecting and improvement on diablo 2 and i find myself left and right missing old machanics of diablo 2 and being unimpressed with current mechanics. I feel it has been too dumbed down with the lack of customization. Unless the game dramatically changes, i will not be getting reaper of souls.
ya try a marine see if it gives the same issue, then we can limit the issue too... well... you. hehe but then we can try to mimic marine flags and such.
From what i understand (which isn't much). Each player runs the map on their own computers and the server sync them. Periodic are not usually an issue especially when you run them under a small number of events.
Blizzard (intentionally or accidentally) did not put a activation limit on many events. mouse move fires off at a very very high speed when the mouse moves, most of us turn the event on/off at a more reasonable speed (0.1-0.2) to fix the lag issue.
As for Camera Move, the camera doesn't move as much as the mouse or other things and blizzard may have limited the event is some way. I suspect however that if you move the camera around a lot it will generate lag.

Wrong, They do. Model dialog. some screen in the menu that do absolutely nothing, and random script stops that happen for no reason other to drive you insane. To top it off we have http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/development/editor-bugs-and-feedback/ which blizzard never looks at.

Test ur condition by outputting text messages if ur unsure.
ur probably doing nothing wrong, its hard to stop a unit from attacking a target once its acquired it. its a bit of a delima.
