    yeah.. yesterday i had sort of the same ..i kept "having problems"

    (trying to start ANY map ended it up in a "An error was encountered please try again later" or something..)

    at first it stuck on creating the lobby and then on launch = gave me the message "try again" (very "weird" phrasing when you have been trying for hours...)

    tried for 2 hours (rebooting etc) and then gave up

    it was working again when i tried an hour later

    BLIZZARD was trying stuff on EU last night and we couldnt join is what i think.. but they didn't say it was on their end, so we assume it is on our end (or the patch)

    sob sigh sob

    still.. works today for me.. for you too? :)

    If not did you try clearing your memory cache? Did you scan your sc2 files?

    i update it on a windows / usb key / open it on my mac and publish it .. it works.

    i go in battlenet info .. it works .. i go on some thing else = crash

    It crashes when you access temp cache / whatever..

    Hi

    my on mac editor crashes every time i try and change a saved value in my trigger window

    (then i test it on a new map thinking it is me.. my map .. and then it does the same crash on a new map too :( )

    Anytime i want to access memory cache / require a save in the memory cache or whatever..

    Anyone know how to save me?

    How do i "re" authorize access to the editor (re specify where to save in memory cache whatever) so it doesn't crash (maybe that is it maybe it is something else) aaaaaaaaaaaaa.. just spent 3 hours on this and potentially got to reinstall or change computers aaaaaaaaaaa .. thank you for reading... :(

    (ps: yes it works fine on a pc)

    Again, by "alive" i mean people making this site .. not users "using" the site. i meant people who own the site and are treating it like a mailbox getting filled.. and nothing more (and YES a lot could be done!!! free and ez)

    i'm sure lots of people want to make this site better.. now even moz (who tried for years) has stopped...

    ok :/ so i left out the worst part.. ask again if you are curious (right now i'm updating my current map and am going to test it with the new patch (much wow suspence) .. and i feel like i'm pissing on everyone's parade possibly from the wait :/ so i'm too sensitive and involved to allow myself to go on further.. but there is more!

    Edit: anyone else hate my avatar gif? it was supposed to be cool and now i cant stand it ahahahahhaha.. i like it but (besides the sketch/poor quality aspect) i smile widely at myself, i wanted to have the hero attack .. but i obviously didn't think of the "endlessly repeat" factor in this .. hahahahahhaha.. looks like an angry dude who can't stop attacking .. come to think of it .. :D seems at least it is an honest reflection :D

    .. that we (as mapster users) use galaxy and exchange with it on mapster means we would like this site to be ALIVE

    to make it more alive .. we would need an "active site" .. that is not what we have..

    why is that again?

    i sadly completely disagree with your 4/ , permanent revolution is right here dude, you just in it and can't see it. Multiplayer RTS top down and quake gameplay can now cohabit.. Developers have barely scratched the surface of RTS games potential .. we are barely beginning its journey. The fact that there are less people involved in this particular outlet (bnet2°) is incidental.. overall the concept of rts is gaining so much ground within the "larger crowd" of gamers it is unheard of.

    About your 2/.. sorry but you mistake "loss of players on a poorly designed game" with "loss of player interest in the type of game". The community has made better versions of sc2, these will be allowed to flourish online soon .. and yes the crowd might come and play them in droves (in a few years).. but that is not going to happen with what blizz is doing, it will happen thanks to more cunning (as in THE game available is good, not the s-hittiest version available that gets "changed / re changed for no apparent gains" that blizzard provides (its only advantage is the integrated ladder/matching opponents skill levels).

    The thing that can happen to get passed the 1/ (updates breaking maps that have "sold" stuff to players etc) is separate engines, engines and servers dedicated to a particular mod/map. That will happen to any "successful map/mod, and that makes it "not worth it" for blizz unless the map has 100 000 people playing it.

    The real kicker is we would pay to get that (dedicated server / engine) and then we could be "getting money back" from the gamers actually playing the game we made and continually nurse through blizzard's changes/other.

    ...

    If it happened.. would you pay 25$ a month for a dedicated engine/server for your own map/map community..?

    ps: the more things change the more they stay the same! hashtag rts forever

    To make things easy at the start (good heavens players are difficult and they expect for authors to conform to "their" norm of how things should be done, lol)

    i added a "1team" trigger

    that makes all players in game allies versus the computers..

    this interface allows for players to set up their teams "in game" (hopefully it works :D )

    and to look at the heroes up close before choosing, at their own pace.

    At the start, any player typing "1team" in chat will start it,

    then (IF player who created the game selected "NO FIXED ALLIANCE that is (pogchamp) ) the players can choose who they are allied to .. from a free for all to a 3v3.

    It obviously works if you are playing solo and however many players are in game with you.

    i'm still a virgin with skybox/lighting etc .. :) and i'm eager to reach the time when i get to it (i'm on units dds now :D and that's tripping enough for a life time.. )

    .. i'd love an animated version to see what it feels like when the camera moves within the texture <3
