Looks pretty cool. You should get someone to help you with the terrain though.

Lower the Unit - Vision Height?

That would be the easist way to do it.

There are many dota-like maps, either released or in development, so you will have to do something very unique to survive.

Minecraft is pretty similar to Starcraft and Warcraft. The game itself is not very interesting, but it gives players the ability to mod, customize and add nearly everything to the game.

posted a message on [SOLVED] Setting multiple regions at once

Sorry for not being accurate enought in my question.

Basically, what I am looking for, is a way to run

    SetVariable(area[1][1], 01_Area01)
    SetVariable(area[1][2], 01_Area02)
    SetVariable(area[1][3], 01_Area03)
    SetVariable(area[1][4], 01_Area04)
    SetVariable(area[1][5], 01_Area05)
    SetVariable(area[1][6], 01_Area06)
    SetVariable(area[1][7], 01_Area07)
    SetVariable(area[1][8], 01_Area08)
    SetVariable(area[1][9], 01_Area09)

without having to type all of these SetVariable lines. The thing is, that 01_Area01, 01_Area02, 01_Area03 and so on, are not variables, but preset regions (made in the editor, not through triggers. I wondered, since it is not possible with GUI, if it is possible, to set the variables without having to type all of the lines, in a custom script.

I hope my question is clear now.

I cant say much about it. I am on the EU server, and the screenshots are not providing much information about the game. The terrain, as far as i can see, could do with a few improvements though. Mess around with the textures, blend some of them, and add some foliage (theres a terrain feature adding this automatically).

Also, I have experienced myself too, that many new projects (and of good quality) from 'lesser' names in the community, including myself, barely gets any attention, while the big community names instantly gets 10 comments when they post their new project thoughts.

posted a message on [SOLVED] Setting multiple regions at once

    Hello,
I wonder if there is a way, through custom scripts, to compress the following actions into a For each Integer, or similar.

    SetVariable(area[1][1], 01_Area01)
    SetVariable(area[1][2], 01_Area02)
    SetVariable(area[1][3], 01_Area03)

    area[ ] [ ] is a region-variable with two arrays.

    01_Area01, 01_Area02, 01_Area03 are regions

I need to run the above SetVariable more than 100 times, so it would be much better with a compressed custom script. I wonder if it is possible to replace the number in the back of the region name with an integer, like this:

    ForEachInteger(INTEGER 1, 126, 1)
    actions
    SetVariable(area[1][INTEGER], 01_Area[INTEGER])

I am not really into galaxy scripts, and as I am not able to construct a script myself, I am now asking for your help.

Nearly everything has been done before, so I would say an original map would be an already known genre with new and unique features.

The uploader name will be yours, but if Zolden has given himself credit ingame (or in the loadingscreen), it will still be shown.

Also, the map looks pretty cool. Will definately check it out.

It sounds like you are pretty new with the editor. I'd suggest to not start on such a project, but instead do something easier. A simple tower defence would make you more familar with both triggers and data. I've been using the editor for about 5 years now (been using wc3 editor too), and i am still not one of those 'pros' you're refering to. I am capable of doing some nice stuff in the editor (such as the map below), but theres still plenty of things i am not capable of.
All in all, i think you should admit that you are inexperienced and unable to do what you wanted to, but instead try put some time into learning the editor. I did not learn through tutorials, I just messed around with the editor for days while trying out different stuff and making it function like i wanted it to. If you really want to do something cool with the editor, you should start with the very basics first.
