posted a message on SC2 ESports in visible decline

    @FockeWulf: Go

Misleading title. Most of the links cited are rumors from one persons twitter
https://twitter.com/supernovamaniac (Never heard of this guy)
And of all the rumors, Only 3 confirmed as true

    http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=427549

Roster change, Team disband, and sponsorship issues/etc in http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=427616

I dont see how this is Sc2 Esports in decline or the exaggerated doom/gloom you and some others are making it out to be. Nothing out of the ordinary. Pro players come and go, teams change around, financial problems occur etc. Sc2 tournaments still pull higher %viewers than League of legends, proportional to the size of both games player bases.

    Quote from FenixKissKerrigan: Go

SC2 ESPORTS, well, it's passed on. This ESPORT is no more. It has ceased to be. It's expired and gone to meet its maker. This is a late ESPORT. It's a stiff. Bereft of life, it rests in peace. If you hadn't nailed it to the perch, it would be pushing up the daisies. It's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible. This is an ex-ESPORT.

Stupid trolling like this would have got you perma-banned on team liquid instantly. Consider yourself warned.

Locking thread. If you want to create a new thread discussing either(but not both together):
    (1) Esports in Decline(facts and valid sources) with coherent and intelligible discussion
    (2) Your project, and however that is relevant on its own merit(I dont get the association with the thread title)

    Quote from Eiviyn: Go

    Just another FockeWulf thread.

Useless post of you to add. I hope it does not become habit.

My personal view is that Sc2 Esports will have its highs and lows but never decline into oblivion. No one can ever seriously consider League of legends as an Esports(Its just casually more popular). Boring to watch, lacks mechanical skill, and fairly one sided/predictable most of the time.

Wow are you seriously threatening to ban someone who just criticized you for not being able to banned someone properly.

By all means try it; you'll see an even bigger shitstorm. We already know your not competent when it comes to actually stopping someone outright through bans. Obviously this issue wasn't handled as you've said because you've already got a 3 page forum with half the posts not even by me remarking about how someone banned, isn't.

By the way Focke nice to see you out and about again; can we expect to see more of you or are you just out for a one time stroll?

    Locking this thread.

Apparently Sixen explained the situation to you before on IRC and you kept persisting(with 'attitude'), and that same thing is being continued in this thread which prompted his reply.

I think its best to not call out or shame anyone(especially moderators). Something this thread has derailed into.

As for TaintedWisp. Smurfs incognito can/will go unrecognized until it becomes obvious(Through posting/behavior etc). Which will end up being banned.

Seeing as the admins knew the day he created that account and the others that it was him ( you don't even need an ip search to confirm that; rather sad), it appears they've lost any sort of dignity at actually doing their jobs on this site. Even tainted has boasted that admins aren't willing to outright ban him because of a deal he made with them.

Fock is definitly not wisp; the join date alone is proof enough.

I always felt the Blizzard community managers were retarded. Blizzard is not so arrogant as they are ignorant/oblivious. Their internal structure, they just dont have that understanding and grasp of the community needs and direction. Some people are not doing their job properly in bridging that gap.

    Quote from SolidSC: Go

There is a Thread on Bnet that basically says that the people that participated in the TLMap Contest #2 contest never received their promised prizes from Blizzard. What is that about?

Diablo 1 probably had the best atmosphere from all Diablo games. It felt really authentic. I can agree with you on that point.

I really dislike that they killed off Deckard Cain. He is too iconic and a central part of the game to just be removed. That I think was a huge mistake on their part.

    Quote from Eimtr: Go

I played Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 in around 2000-2002 and I did go far with it (Level 80 Druid elementalist after Hell difficulty being my best) but now I kind of abandoned the Diablo world as I made my choice with SC2, don't think I will ever play Diablo 3 or its expansion. It was nice I did for Diablo 3 beta one day when it was free and already felt fed up. All the problems of the game that you speak about, I've heard them and I guess I am not missing much, Diablo 2 was truly that great and epic and D3 I heard lost this continuous epicness.

Partially, I think I don't like doing things with Angels and Demons stories anymore, so this may be the reason as well as me liking Space and Futuristic Sci Fi much more.

However, they make great cinematics, looks even better than HotS cinematics, no? Is this the graphics you wanted to see in SC2 to not be cartoony? To be movie-like?

Respect for playing Druid Elementalist to hell difficulty. Was definitely one of the harder paths. Bonus points if it was hardcore mode.

I thought D3 was good, way better then that crappy D2 where if you mess up you have to start all the way over just because of lazy game design, Just disappointed that once again idiots will flock to buy this expansion despite it only being about 10% the original games content. and 80% the originals price. just like LoD... a huge waste of time.

Strongly opinionated as usual with a useless post. TaintedWisp.(I guessed before checking, was too obvious) So basically only 'idiots' will buy the expansion?, despite their preference or whatever perceived value they see in it. I think your dislike for Diablo 2(from your obnoxious statements) stems from the fact that you were bad at the game.. Stick to CoD.

    they add/alter/fix:
    - account wide paragon system replacing the hero's paragon levels. It seems to have new effects and paragon levels are "unlimited" (*cough* *cough*)
    - alter drops to spawn less white, less blue, less rare (but better for your class), more legendaries (which are better than before [it seems like legendaries contain multiple tiers now with stars as indicators for their rarity])
    - make white items important for crafting
    - transmogrification (copy visual appearance of item x to item y) at mystic artisan (mystic re-added)
    - rerolling single affixes at mystic artisan
    - more account bound stuff to mitigate auction house
    - new act, new class, 10 more levels, cinematics
    - loot runs (new endgame stuff that is more similar to D2 baal runs, it seems). Also, "random" dungeons (my suspicion: something like 8 dungeon formats and one is selected) and random monster type appearances in those dungeons (like D2's guest monsters). Also, the dungeons have random lightings, so their huge tiles won't look totally the same every play-through.

Basically, they addressed most things the community wanted to have changed (which did not mean a complete redesign of the whole game to keep vanilla D3 intact). But, the expansion might be far away, maybe they will add another class... I was hoping for 2 new classes just to match D2 LoD. But all the time they had to spend to fix vanilla and redo loot, might have made it not fit into the expansion anymore. =/

    @Vilgath: Go

D2 received a way to refund a few skill points as far as I know. That was added with one of the last patches. If you throw your hero away because of a few stat points and complain about it, you might be too "elitist", though.

Much needed changes. Might just revive the game.

Is there actually even PvP in d3 yet? Or is this going to come with the Expansion, despite being promised shortly after d3 release?

They added a very basic and minimal pvp to D3 not too long ago.

Something new coming from Blizzard, next probably being Hearth-Stone Im guessing.

Thoughts?. Personally I Wasnt impressed with Diablo 3(so many issues), and this expansion looks/feels generic. As some have posted on the video, if it were free great, otherwise another 40 or $60 is probably not worth it. Also, only one new class.

You guys are talking soo much about a ban of some guy who called gays some insulting way, did I understand this right?

No. He was toxic in many threads. Not to mention going full retard and publicly attacking/insulting a moderator. Ironic that the same moderator tried to defend his case, which was futile as subsequent toxic actions by wisp got him permanently banned.

    Quote from FenixKissKerrigan: Go

yeah, in the old days of WarCraft III people didn't take things so seriously! Stop being so politically correct and unban him! He's worth a lot to the community! Give him one more chance at least!

What are you jumping for?, whats got you so excited?. Judging from the replies in this thread, many people still despise him. Those who dont know the full story or history are uncertain.

To touch on the last point, I think that was already explained somewhere in this thread. Its the same case with others that were banned in the past, No matter your skill or what you have done for the community(if anything), that in no way excuses bad behavior. Mapster is a peaceful community, free of elitists and troublemakers/trolls and the like.

I dont think he has learned his lesson and permabans are irrevocable by definition. Im banning your secondary account seeing as xcorbo already banned your primary. If for some reason the moderators decide to unban you, you can consider it a miracle.

Locking this thread as well since most of the community seems unwilling to accept you back. Them being the ones you offended most.

    Well Here it goes

Hello everyone, its been a couple months(well technically my newest account has been here the past few days :P), Anyways I would like to apologize for my offensive language and attitude over the past several months. I realize I have been poisonous to both the community and myself, I have since realized my faults and am working on them.

I am writing this apology simply because... well I dunno to be honest, I just didn't feel it was right to leave people offended, From here on out, whether on mapster, or wherever I will be more polite, helpful, and will try not to say anything that people will find offensive, except those damn Antarctica bastards!!! They come over and steal all the penguins fishes.!!! they cant be allowed!!!!

    -Thanks for reading TW.
